Oklahoma Panhandle State University Equine Department We breed High Quality Horses to be used first in the classroom. From there our horses can go anywhere from the ranch to the show pen.

Click on 'About' to learn more about our program. Here in the OPSU Equine Department we strive to breed user friendly horses. These horses are used in the classroom to teach students more about horses and the colt starting process. In addition to good minded they have to be athletic. That is why we cross are good mares donated by Rick Furnish and the Hitch Ranch, along with Mark Freeman and the Fr

eeman Ranch with stallions from the Solum Brothers and Susan Russell. These stallions include Sweet Like Pepto, Hollywood Vintage, Roosters Wrangler and Generatin A Spark. The OPSU Equine Science Program (BS) offers students the valuable experience of hands on training. With a top notch horse barn, round pens, large outdoor arena and heated indoor arena students take part in every aspect of the training. From the first halter to the first saddle students get to learn how to start colts at the speed at which they are comfortable. And with the Equine Center being so close to campus students can come to the barn anytime they wish. So bring your saddle and let’s get to work!

Congratulations to two nice horses bred and raised by the OPSU Equine Department at the Kansas State Fair this past weekend!!!! Docs Scarlett Rooster with his owner Sarah Johnson earned the title of KSF Champions in the Level 4 Horsemanship along with Top Ten finishes in the 14-18 Horsemanship and Trail. OPSU Sparklin Gin and her owner Jessica Johns, last year's 2 Year Old Futurity Champions, were successful again as they earned a Top Three finish is the 3 Year Old Futurity. We at the OPSU Equine Department are so proud of the achievements of these kids and their horses and love hearing the success stories!!!!! Congrats!!!!!

This is the 2 year old c**t we sold to KT Doke from Wray Colorado. We love getting pictures and videos of the horses we sell. We can't wait to see this wonderful c**t at some futurities next year!
