2026 Season Recap

What a season it was for our Varsity boys. After losing 6 seniors last year, we knew the challenges were high. A lot of guys had to step up and fill those shoes. Our boys stayed motivated and came to work at every practice, match, and tournament. We finished with a match play record of 7-3, bowled in 10 tournaments, took 2nd place at regionals as a team, had a single qualify 2nd at regionals, and capped our season off at the state finals. Even though both days at states didn’t go as planned, these boys proved they have what it takes to compete with the best of the best, regardless of division. We are extremely proud of how much these boys have grown and performed. Expect more great things next year with this group!

🎳🏅STATE QUALIFIER🏅🎳

Today the varsity boys had the singles portion of regionals where they had to bowl 6 games and the top 7 spots out of a field of 78 punch their tickets to the state finals. All of our boys were coming in this morning ready to get back to work after qualifying for states the day prior in the team portion. Junior Colton Servello fired off an opening 244 game and didn’t look back. He shot a massive 1316 series for his 6 games (244, 232, 212, 183, 200, 245). This gave him a second place finish and will continue his season fighting for a state title in both the team and singles portions.

Senior Cody Coleman also had a very impressive day shooting 1139 which put him in 9th just missing the top 7. Sophomore Brenden Bryant finished 34th, Junior Blake Sokol 40th, Junior Elijah Ex 42nd and freshman Jackson Portman 53rd.

These boys fought incredibly hard these past two days. Root them on as we fight for a couple state titles next week!

🎳🏅STATE FINALS HERE WE COME!🏅🎳

Very proud to announce our varsity boys are headed to the state finals! These boys have worked extremely hard all season and their hard work paid off. The top two teams qualify for states and we were in a battle with Swartz Creek all day. We were down 6 pins going into the last game to secure the second spot. Frame after frame we fought with Creek and our boys turned up the heat in the final frames to secure our ticket to the state finals!

🏅Great Weekend to be a Martian🏅

It was an eventful weekend for the varsity boys that resulted in some nice hardware! On Saturday our boys had the end of year Flint Metro Singles tournament. The boys bowed 3 games that went towards their league play average which ultimately decides the all metro teams. We had 3 athletes place on 3rd team all metro. Colton Servello (187.96), Blake Sokol (182.35), and Cody Coleman (181.78). Freshman Jackson Portman received honorable mention (158.46). After the medals were handed out, the top 16 went into match play. Colton qualified 7th but ended up falling short in the first round.

On Sunday our boys bowled in the regional tune up tournament at Richfield. Our boys showed up big time! We shot 801 for 4 bakers and then 1029 and 926 for our individual games. We qualified 4th and faced a tough Lapeer team in the first round of match play. We had an exciting match but fell short by 6 pins. Cody Coleman and Colton Servello both shot a 437 series for their two individual games which put them on the all tournament team! It was a great weekend and we look to carry this momentum into regionals this week

🎳 Regular Season is Complete 🎳

Our varsity boys finished the regular season Monday night by celebrating our lone senior, Cody Coleman! We kicked off the night by recognizing Cody in front of the packed house at B’s. From there we took on the boys from Holly. We started strong by winning both bakers and jumping out to a 10-0 lead. We stayed in control and took enough points in the first regular game to seal the victory with a final of 20-10. It was a great night for Cody as he was the high man for the martians with a 374 (171, 203). We wish him nothing but the best in his future plans!

Our Goodrich Varsity boys finished the season with a 7-3 record. We have our Flint Metro Singles tournament this Saturday where they announce the all metro teams, regional tune up on Sunday and then headed to regionals next Thursday/Friday.

🎳Tournament Recap🎳

The varsity boys took place in the New Lorthrup Hornets singles challenge at Colonial Lanes in Flushing. It is a tune up tournament for the singles portion of regionals. It was a long grind of 6 games of qualifying. Scores were up and down all day across the board. We had 1 bowler advance to match play in dramatic fashion. Colton Servello tied for 16th place to force a 9th and 10th frame roll off to determine who would advance to match play. After a tense roll off, he won 48-36. He then had to take on the top seeded machine from Durand, Noah Wood. The match went shot for shot and came down to the 10th frame but Colton fell just short losing 225-223. It was a long day but another good showing from our boys!

The varsity boys took on a very tough D1 Flushing team today at Holly Lanes. We threw a couple 178 bakers at them and they answered with a 199 and 233 to get out ahead of us 10-0 early. Our boys fought hard in the first individual game and it was very close going into the final frames but Flushing prevailed and took 3 matches and totals That was enough to shut us out going into the second game. Our boys didn’t give up and still had some quality games. Leading the team today was Junior Colton Servello with a 403 (228, 175) and senior Cody Coleman with a 380 (200, 180). This puts our record at 6-3 heading into our final match of the year Monday night against Holly.
