Huge congratulations to my oldest son Alex on earning his Commercial Driver's License today!

As both a proud father and an instructor with Fort Hays Tech | Northwest, today is extra special. Alex has been a dedicated team member at Walmart, and now he's ready to take the next step in his career by hitting the road as a professional truck driver. His hard work, determination, and commitment to getting his CDL is something our whole family is celebrating today.

Watching our students—especially my own son—succeed in the CDL program and prepare for meaningful careers in the transportation industry is what it's all about. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Alex—we're proud of you, and we can't wait to see where this career takes you. Here's to safe travels and all the success ahead! 🌟

🎓 Congratulations to our newest CDL graduate, Paul! 🚛
Paul earned his Commercial Driver's License in less than two months through our program at Fort Hays Tech | Northwest — and what a journey it's been to watch. With 28 years of dedicated service at UPS, plus experience with FedEx and the City of Goodland, Paul brought a lifetime of work ethic and reliability to this next chapter of his career.
Fun fact: we share the same name AND we both know our way around a truck — must be something about the name Paul that just says "born to drive." 😉
It was an absolute pleasure having him in the program. He's one of the kindest, hardest-working people you'll ever meet, and any company would be lucky to have him on their team.

Congratulations to Rolando on earning his CDL today in Colby!

Rolando put in the hours, kept his head down, and got it done. Test day has a way of getting to people, but he came in ready and drove like it.

He's headed back down to the Tribune area, where he works for a local farmer and runs his own general contracting business. That Class A means hauling his own equipment and materials instead of waiting on somebody else to do it — and out here, that's the difference between getting the job done and getting it done on time.

🎉 Congratulations, Jackson! 🎉
Jackson has officially earned his Class A CDL through the CDL program at Fort Hays Tech | Northwest — and he's already got a plan. He's headed into Ag Business, and he'll be putting that new license to work on the family farm.
Ag and trucking go hand in hand out here. Hauling grain, moving equipment, keeping harvest rolling — this is the kind of skill that keeps a family operation running and keeps western Kansas moving.

🎉 Congratulations Sienna!
We are so proud to announce that Sienna has officially earned her Class A CDL today — and she did it with flying colors! Examiner Tubbs said she did an excellent job, and we couldn't agree more.
At just 18 years old, Sienna put in approximately 2.5 months of hard work and dedication to earn this credential — all while working part-time at Helena and fresh off graduating from Goodland High School this spring. That kind of drive is something special.
This fall, Sienna will be heading to college to pursue Veterinary Technology and/or Beef Production — and she'll be heading there with a Class A CDL in her pocket.
Sienna, it has been a privilege to watch you work toward this goal. You represented yourself, your family, and your community beautifully. The future is bright for you!

Another successful CDL graduate out of Fort Hays Tech | Northwest — congratulations, Luke!
At just 18 years old, Luke tackled his CDL training and came out the other side with his Class A license in hand. We know getting behind the wheel for the first time can be nerve-racking — and let's just say the nerves started before he even got here. Luke may or may not have forgotten his license at home (cough cough) We won't mention it again. 😄 He still showed up, knocked it out, and passed with flying colors.
Luke is heading back to Zerr Ranch and AgTeam Auctions to put his new skills to work alongside his Dad and family. We are so proud of you, Luke — the road is yours! 🚛

Congratulations to Jake from Burlington, KS on passing his CDL skills test today in Colby!
Jake drove all the way from the other side of Kansas and stayed in a hotel for two weeks to make it happen — that's commitment. We couldn't be more proud of him.
Next up: Pittsburg State University for a B.S. in Automotive Technology with emphases in Diesel/Heavy Equipment and Advanced Fuel Systems — and next weekend he'll be playing Tuba in the East-West Shrine Bowl! Catch him on TV!
Jake also mentioned a friend back in Burlington who may be joining us soon — word is getting out about our program, and we love to hear it!
