[10/28/20]   Dear Parents and Guardians,

North Valley Academy is dedicated to providing a safe environment for learning. While educating your student is our primary focus, we are currently faced with many challenges in terms of children’s safety. NVA had hoped we would be in Phase 3 for a limited amount of time; however, with rising concerns in our state, it appears Phase 3 could be here longer than anticipated. To help our students academically, NVA has developed a creative solution which allows students to be in our building learning on four days a week, while still adhering to COVID safety measures. We call this option, Phase 3.1, and it is an attempt to increase the in-person contact hours with students, yet still provide social distancing and safety procedures necessary to keep our children and staff as safe as possible. In Phase 3.1, school will be in-person, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday will be a virtual day for all students with a focus on reading and catching up assignments at home.

Phase 3.1 for Elementary:
 School will start at 8:30am, ending at 12:30pm.
 Meals will still be provided. Students will be sent sack lunches when they leave at 12:30.
 As the buses drop elementary students off, secondary students will get on the bus and come to school.

Phase 3.1 for Secondary:
 As the buses drop elementary students off, secondary students will get on the bus and come to school.
 School will start at 2:00pm, ending at 6pm.
 Secondary students will receive their lunch when they arrive at school, and will be sent a sack breakfast for the next morning when they leave.
 We feel this is what is best for students under current conditions; however, secondary parents who prefer not to utilize this option, may request to have their student continue to work virtually from home.

This option allows all students to be at school four days a week providing more stability for students who struggle to work virtually, increasing their ability to be successful. This phase will begin on November 2nd and go through November 20th. Parent teacher conferences will be held November 18th, from 12:00-7:00, with virtual conferences available upon request. November 20th is a virtual day for all students as per the district schedule.

We appreciate your support and patience during these unprecedented times. Our goal is to keep students as safe as possible, but their education must remain important. Please talk with your student and make sure they understand school is a priority. Students need to continue to work and progress in their education – their future, and ours, depends on it. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact myself or your child’s teacher.
