A big thank you to Roots Education for delivering and installing new advanced manufacturing equipment at River Parishes Community College! 🛠️⚙️

This technology will provide another valuable hands-on learning resource for our students and faculty, supplementing instruction across multiple areas, including Industrial Maintenance, Energy Sciences and drafting courses, with opportunities to support Welding curriculum in the future.

Investments in modern training technology help RPCC give students experience with the tools, processes and concepts they’ll encounter in today’s advanced manufacturing and industrial environments.

Thank you to the Roots Education team for helping us expand the resources available to prepare our students for the workforce of tomorrow.

Building partnerships and expanding opportunities in St. James Parish!

RPCC Adult Education Director Dr. Sarina Lirette recently joined St. James Parish President Pete Dufresne, members of the St. James Parish Council, and St. James Parish Department of Human Resources/Community Action Agency Director Ingrid Bergeron to highlight adult education and workforce development opportunities available to St. James Parish residents.

Through strong community partnerships, RPCC Adult Education is helping residents build skills, earn industry-recognized credentials, and create pathways to education and employment. Most recently, RPCC completed an Introduction to Construction training in St. James Parish, with more training to come.

We are grateful to St. James Parish Government and DHR for their continued partnership and commitment to expanding opportunities for residents throughout the parish.

It was a busy week on the road for RPCC's Recruiting & Outreach team!

We had a great time connecting with students from:
📍 St. Charles Catholic High School
📍 Gretna-Young Audiences Charter School
📍 Lutcher High School
📍 West Baton Rouge College Fair

From exploring academic and career pathways to learning about financial aid, student life and opportunities close to home, we loved helping students start thinking about what comes next.

Thank you to each school and community for welcoming RPCC and to all the students who stopped by to learn more. We hope to see you on an RPCC campus soon!

RPCC was proud to honor Rene's Industries, Inc. and Kenworth of Louisiana with the LCTC Foundation Impact Award during the 2026 LCTC Annual Conference for their contributions to River Parishes Community College and our students.

Rene’s Industries's donation of a fully-fitted commercial truck to RPCC will support our new Commercial Driver’s License training program, helping expand access to hands-on training for future drivers in our region.

Kenworth of Louisiana further supported the program by retrofitting the truck, transforming its sleeper cab into additional seating better suited for student instruction.

These contributions are a great example of what can happen when education and industry work together to create opportunities, strengthen our workforce and invest in the future of our communities.

Thank you, Rene’s Industries and Kenworth of Louisiana, for your partnership and your investment in RPCC students. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

We look forward to sharing more about this new program in the coming weeks!

🎉 Join us in congratulating Laura Segura, RPCC’s recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award!

While Laura was unable to attend the LCTC Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony during this year’s Annual Conference, we couldn’t let this well-deserved recognition pass without celebrating her here at home.

Laura’s dedication to our students and commitment to excellence exemplify the very best of RPCC. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of our college community and grateful for the impact she continues to make each day.

Congratulations, Laura! We are so proud of you! 💙🎓
