Weather Alert: Summer School Canceled Thursday, June 18

Due to the potential impacts from Tropical Storm Arthur, which could bring significant rainfall, gusty winds, and localized flooding to our area, Ascension Public Schools will cancel all summer school classes on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

In addition, all schools and district offices will be closed with no activities allowed. Twelve-month employees will remain on call as needed to support district operations.

The safety of our students, employees, and families remains our top priority. We encourage everyone to monitor local weather forecasts and use caution when traveling, especially in areas prone to flooding.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if necessary through our official communication channels and on our website, AscensionSchools.org.

It's never too early to start preparing for an amazing school year! Our 2026-2027 school supply lists are now available. We can't wait to welcome our C**ts back for another year of learning, growing, and success!

🎒 Parents: Please Check Before You Customize Backpacks! 🎒

As families prepare for the new school year, please keep Ascension Parish's clear backpack guidelines in mind before purchasing decals, monograms, name labels, or custom designs.

✅ Small personalization is allowed.

❌ Large decals, stickers, monograms, name labels, graphics, or patterns that obstruct visibility are not permitted.

📏 Any personalization on a clear backpack must be no larger than the allowable privacy bag size: 6.5" x 4.5".

Please note that even multiple small graphics or patterns that cover an area larger than 6.5" x 4.5" are not allowed.

We want to help families avoid purchasing customized backpacks that may not meet district requirements.

Your C**ts Spirit Store is now open for the 2026-2027 school year. We have a few new or updated items available. Parents have asked for a shirt with the school colors, so we added a forest green t shirt with the mascot boldly in the front. We also will now offer the black t shirt and crewneck with the full front logo in black. Lastly, we now have a full zip black jacket available. Some of your favorites will return for this school year also. Grade level shirts will be communicated as soon as they are available. Multiple items are on clearance as well so stock up on those NOW!!!
