The Chargers struggled to keep up with the Tritons in a league loss on Wednesday at Scott O’Leary Field in Goleta.

Noah Connolly provided an RBI single for Dos Pueblos to score Stone Saunders, while Logan Pearce hurled three shutout innings of relief.

The Chargers (11-2, 4-1 CL) will head to Oxnard for a rematch with Pacifica on Friday.

Dos Pueblos 6, Lompoc 3

The Chargers won their non-league matchup with Lompoc on Saturday at Scott O’Leary Field in Goleta.

Dos Pueblos’ Luke Jackson fired four strong innings in the win, allowing one earned run and striking out a pair. Max Cruise tossed a scoreless inning of relief, while Matti Di Maggio slammed the door in the seventh for the save.

Di Maggio also roped a home run on the offensive end, while Jameson Barth came through with a go-ahead, two-run single and Evan Bean added to hits.

The Chargers are now 11-1 and remain 4-0 in Channel League play.

Freshman Matti Di Maggio blasted a pair of home runs to lead an offensive outburst in the Chargers’ win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday in Ventura.

Di Maggio went 3-for-3 with four RBI, while junior Jameson Barth went 3-for-3 with a homer and five RBI. Junior Nick Salcido added to the slugfest with a three-run home run in the victory.

Senior Liam Shea tossed 6 ⅔ strong innings to earn the win, holding Buena scoreless until the seventh. He struck out four batters along the way.

Dos Pueblos (9-1, 3-0 Channel League) will look to complete the sweep at home on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Dos Pueblos freshman Matti Di Maggio turned in a standout performance on the diamond last week en route to Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.

Di Maggio led the Charger baseball team to a 2-0 start in Channel League action with a sweep of Ventura and a win over Foothill Tech, going 6-for-9 at the plate with three home runs, three stolen bases, five RBI and eight runs scored.

The standout also fired three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four to help lift Dos Pueblos to a 6-5 win over Ventura to begin the week.

Chargers win league opener!

NOOZHAWK - Dos Pueblos 6, Ventura 5

The Chargers won their Channel League opener taking down the Cougars in Ventura.

The two teams went back and forth throughout, with Dos Pueblos scoring four runs in the third before Ventura answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game.

However, senior Spencer Holtz had the last laugh as he roped an RBI single to drive in junior Marcus Carbajal, who proved to be the game-winning run.

Senior Liam Shea started the game for the Chargers, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out four in three innings of work.

After junior Reed Bitter threw in relief, freshman Matti Di Maggio took over and fired three shutout innings of relief to close out the win.

Di Maggio allowed just one hit and struck out four batters.

Dos Pueblos junior Taylor Young tallied a pair of hits and drove in a run, while Carbajal drove in a pair of runs of his own.

Di Maggio went 1-for-3 and scored twice to go along with his pitching performance.

The Chargers (6-1, 1-0 CL) and Cougars (1-5, 0-1 CL) are set to clash in Goleta on Friday at 3 p.m.
