Exciting news for educators in North Carolina!

Educator Preparation Program (EPP) faculty from community colleges across the state recently collaborated to develop and align standards, learning outcomes, and coursework for six new Residency Licensure areas. This statewide effort will expand access to teacher licensure opportunities through the community college system and help address educator workforce needs across North Carolina.

As part of this initiative, Wayne Community College's EPP is expanding its offerings and will launch five new Residency Licensure Certificates beginning this fall. In addition to the Elementary Education Residency Licensure Certificate, teachers can now pursue residency licensure in:

βœ… Special Education
βœ… High School Math
βœ… Middle School Math
βœ… High School Science
βœ… Middle School Science

The EPP provides coaching, guidance, and supportive coursework through convenient online platforms, all at community college tuition rates.

If you're ready to take the next step toward becoming a licensed teacher, now is the perfect time to get started!
