🎥 Behind the Scenes of our Bison Business Blocks! 🦬

A big shoutout to our Entertainment Technologies students who helped set up and produce the livestream for the latest Bison Business Blocks!

Students operated professional video cameras and a video mixer to switch between camera angles during the live broadcast, applying their production skills in a live event setting.

Thank you to our students for their hard work and professionalism. We’re proud to see them developing their skills while contributing to campus events! 👏

We had a great time hosting the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region’s 2026 Regional Forklift Rodeo at Wayne Community College!

Forklift operators from Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne counties gathered at WCC to compete for regional bragging rights in a series of challenges that tested their precision and driving skills.

🎓 Know a high school senior who is thinking about what comes next?

Wayne Community College is hosting Senior Night on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 6–7 p.m. All Wayne County high school seniors and their parents or guardians are invited to learn more about opportunities at WCC and explore options for life after high school.

Families can connect with WCC faculty and staff, explore programs through interactive activities, and learn about resources, including financial aid, admissions, and student support.

The Foundation of Wayne Community College’s Arts and Humanities lecture series continues with “The End of the World as We Know It? A Medievalist’s Perspective on the Apocalypse,” featuring Brett Whalen, a professor of medieval religious history at UNC-Chapel Hill.

In partnership with Carolina Public Humanities, Whalen will explore how Christians throughout history have interpreted major events as signs of the apocalypse and what these beliefs reveal about the hopes, fears and anxieties of their time. With 2033 approaching, the lecture will also consider why these ideas continue to resonate today.

Wayne Community College’s Mathematics Department recently partnered with local high schools for the Wayne County Fair High School Math Competition.

Students competed in teams of two through two rounds of math trivia, mental math, and calculations, tackling topics from algebra and geometry to probability, statistics, and trigonometry—all without calculators.

Congratulations to all of the students who competed! 🎉 Wayne School of Technical Arts took home the overall championship after winning the final Winner vs. Winner round.

All participants received monetary prizes from the Wayne County Fair and scholarships from The Foundation of Wayne Community College and the North Carolina State Elks Association.

We’re proud to support opportunities that challenge local students and celebrate their talent in mathematics!
