๐ Celebrating Excellence at Wayne Community College ๐
This spring, two outstanding adult WIOA participantsโ Hashida and Jennifer โ were proudly inducted into the Upsilon Chi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Wayne Community College.
๐Phi Theta Kappa membership recognizes academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to learning, and Hashida and Jennifer embody all of these qualities.
โ๏ธBalancing coursework with jobs, family responsibilities, and the everyday demands of adult life is no small feat. Yet they pushed forward โ late nights, early mornings, and countless moments of choosing long-term goals over short-term comfort. Their induction honors not just their grades, but their grit.
๐โจ To Hashida and Jennifer:
Your hard work has paid off in a big way. Youโve shown that itโs never too late to chase big dreams, set bold goals, and rise to meet them. Your dedication inspires classmates, instructors, and your families โ and it sets a powerful example for every adult learner walking a similar path.

Congratulations Tamira! The fourth floor is lucky to have you.
WCC Nursing is spotlighting our Associate Degree Nursing students as they complete graduation. These graduates have worked very hard and will make amazing nurses.
Today we are spotlighting Tamira Bryant.
When asked why she chose nursing, Tamira said, "I have aspired to be a nurse since I was five years old, shaped by my experiences with hospitalization and the loss of my father, who believed I would one day become a nurse. Those moments not only inspired my goal but also helped shape who I am today. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of compassion, patience, and genuine care during the most vulnerable times in a personโs life. I have always had a natural ability to comfort others, listen, and create a sense of safety. Becoming a nurse is more than a career choice for me; it is a reflection of who I am. I strive to be the kind of nurse I once needed, and someone families can trust with the care of their loved ones."
Tamira expresses gratitude in saying, "I want to thank my family, my Son, my fiancรฉ, the Nursing Faculty team, and Mrs. Jenkins from Counseling and Clinical Services."
After graduation, Tamira will be working at UNC Health Wayne in the Oncology Unit. Tamira's long-term goal is to obtain her BSN degree in Nursing at UNC Wilmington.
Congrats to you, Tamira. We are excited to watch you as you fulfill your dream.
