๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ป๐ŸŽน This week, the Information Systems Technology Department had the pleasure of hosting Career & Technical Education (CTE) teachers from Wayne County Public Schools for a morning of hands-on professional development!

Our instructors shared exciting ways to bring emerging technologies into today's classrooms:

๐Ÿค– Software Development Instructor Jenneth Honeycutt showed teachers how to use the power of AI to create websites, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can make web development more accessible and engaging.

๐Ÿ” Cybersecurity Instructor Randy Wilhide covered cybersecurity best practices, discussed real-world data breaches, and provided valuable resources that teachers can take back and use with their own students.

๐ŸŽต Entertainment Technologies Instructor David Vinciguerra introduced teachers to the world of Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI). Participants explored Virtual Instruments, played MIDI keyboards connected to Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), and created music using FL Studio.

Thank you to all of the Wayne County Public Schools CTE teachers who joined us! We appreciate your dedication to preparing the next generation of technology professionals and enjoyed having you on campus. We look forward to continuing our partnership to inspire students through innovative, hands-on learning.

Last week, Software Development Instructor Jenneth Honeycutt had the opportunity to attend the STEM Fair & Showcase at Meadow Lane Elementary.

It was such a fun and meaningful evening spent connecting with students and their families. Jenneth set up a matching game that challenged students (and quite a few parents!) with a fun brain teaser throughout the event.

Sometimes the best part of STEM outreach is simply showing up, sharing a few laughs, sparking curiosity, and being part of the community. Weโ€™re thankful for opportunities like this to encourage young learners and support our local schools.

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Simulation and Game Development Instructor Cheyenne Prybylinski for being named the recipient of the 2026 George E. Wilson Excellence in Teaching Award! ๐ŸŽ‰

Ms. Prybylinski is an incredible instructor who pours her heart, passion, and energy into her students and her work every single day. Her dedication to student success, creativity, and excellence makes a lasting impact both inside and outside the classroom, and we could not be more proud of her.

One of her students shared this about her:

โ€œCouldn't think of someone more deserving of such an award. An amazing, down-to-earth, and overall understanding teacher who gets the point across no matter what. She leaves no one behind. Sheโ€™s of utmost deserving of this award; I'd go as far as to say if she doesn't get it, I'd be VERY disappointed in a lot of people.โ€

Congratulations, Ms. Prybylinski! This recognition is well deserved, and we are lucky to have you as part of our department! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽฎ
