🚨 HEAT SAFETY ALERT for Step Into 1776 🚨

With the hot summer temperatures today, we want everyone attending Step Into 1776 in downtown Goldsboro to plan ahead and stay safe in the heat.

The good news is that most of the event takes place indoors in air-conditioned spaces, including the Ladies’ Craft Fair, Battlefield Surgeon and Reverend exhibit, African-Americans and Native Americans in the Revolution exhibit, and Taste the Revolution.

We will also have water stations at each event location to help keep everyone hydrated as you move between stops.

If you plan to attend the Weapons Demonstration on Freedom Field, please plan accordingly. This portion is only about 15 minutes outdoors, and we will have both a misting fan and water station available there as well.

Please wear light clothing, drink plenty of water, and take breaks as needed. Your comfort and safety are important to us, and we can’t wait to see you for this unforgettable journey into 1776! 🇺🇸

Huge thanks to Downtown Goldsboro and B&g Grill for helping us promote Step Into 1776.

The British were confused. The Patriots were suspicious. And everyone had questions about… ice and plastic.

Turns out explaining modern conveniences to folks from 1776 is no easy task.

Join us on Friday, July 3 in Downtown Goldsboro for an immersive Revolutionary-era experience as we celebrate America 250!
