End of the year testing starts after Memorial Day. I have created 3 teaching videos on test taking Strategies and recognizing barrier words. Please parents, teachers,mentors... anyone that works with children, please use these videos to help them prepare, define and study the barrier words so they will not be an obstacle for them understanding the questions. This little girl was observing and analyzing in front of her house in Germany 🇩🇪 Children manifest the gifts and talents God has placed in them. It is our job in the village to cultivate, nurture and train them in the way they should go. Parents, teachers, grandparents, mentors ...what do you see in the children in your life? Are you "seeing"? Then point those living arrows into their purpose early! Every Child Needs a Champion... Remove the barriers teach testing taking strategies and have a culture of high expectations and the students will be successful!

The are all reading tests! Math -word problems...Science- Graphs, Illustrations and Scenarios.... Social Studies- interpreting historical events and scenarios.
Removing the Barriers
Since students have to take these test, then they need to set up for success. Not only do they need to understand and define content vocabulary. Students must understand and define Barrier Words. Barrier Words are words that can be a :"barrier" to comprehending the questions. We have to teach them the meanings of the words so we they can remove the barriers. Below is list of barrier words that are found on all tests.
