Challenge A students enjoyed building skeletons out of pretzels together and labeling all the bones!
Hey there! One of our CC moms posted this video on her FB page, and we thought you might like to see it too :-) Last week in Foundations, students opened up seeds in a science lab and identified the parts of a seed. This video shows the amazing life that bursts forth from those seeds. Enjoy!

We use this FB page to share resources related to homeschooling/CC work and to illustrate what classical education looks like on our community days.
So here's a picture from our first day in Challenge B. In classical education, we use great questions to draw out information from our older students. We want them to make comparisons, consider cause and effect, think about context, and investigate what authorities say on a particular topic.
We had a great discussion on The Phantom Tollbooth. Click on the pictures to learn more!

Good day, everyone! As you can see from our page, we've taken a break this summer...but it's time to get back in action! If you're interested in learning more about Classical Conversations, we'll be at the local homeschool fair on the 20th and we'll have an information meeting on the 27th. Once the school year begins, we will continue to post pictures highlighting what classical education looks like on our community days. In the meantime, we hope you have a wonderful rest of summer! 🤗

Last week in Foundations we learned about Brown vs. Board of Education. Here are some excellent books from the WCPL you may enjoy sharing as a family to learn more about America's struggle to overcome segregation. Our Lego book club read some of them together and then talked about (and built!) ways we can use our time and interests to show the Lord's love and compassion to all in our city. Thank you, families, for the opportunity to read and have great conversations together :-)

What a celebration of the arts we've enjoyed this month! For our first orchestra lesson, we had a guest speak to us about her experiences as a conductor. We've also been able to see some of students on stage in local theater and ballet productions :-) We are thankful to be able to soak in the arts together as families and we appreciate all of the artists who share their talents and passion with us!
There are two great ways to learn more about CC coming up next week. We'll be hosting a "Window into Challenge" which is an information meeting about our middle/high school program on Monday and then on Thursday, we'll be hosting an open house for children of all ages. Follow the links below for more information! (If you're coming to the open house on the 8th, please message us so we can plan for your visit, thanks!)

Happy Monday, everyone :-) Here's an example of how our students learn together, encourage one another, and have fun!
In our afternoon writing/grammar class, our students worked as a class to identify each part of speech in the sentence they were given. Way to go, guys! Then two students went up to the board to diagram it as a team. Later in the afternoon they played fun math games together. Thank you, Essentials tutors, for creating this environment for our families!
