Excitement is in the air. This is our 3rd year working with Wayne County NC extension 4-H program with jersey calf show. This is an 8 week program that school age kids can participate in learning how to halter break calves, learn to lead them, while learning anatomy of animal, what they eat, and where the feed comes from. At the end of the program the kids get to show their calf at the Down East Calf Show held at the livestock arena in Lenoir county.

Kenan is learning hands on about agriculture thru the summer intern program. We are super excited seeing all that he is learning.
Say hello to Kenan Howell, our summer intern at the Cherry Research Station! Kenan is a rising Senior at NC State University. He is currently working as a farm hand at our research station, doing any task handed to him by our supervisors. He is excited to be gaining hands on experience in the industry this summer. Hannah is learning so much while working as an intern with us at Cherry Research. We are super excited seeing her learning hands on about agriculture.
Hannah McCoy started working as a summer intern at the Cherry Research Station on June 5th! She is currently a rising Senior at the University of Mount Olive and is looking forward to graduation.
This summer she is helping our research station with animal husbandry, horticulture research and crop management. We are glad to have you this summer Hannah!

Malorie is learning alot as an intern with us at Cherry Research. We are super excited to see all the things that she is learning and doing. This is a great program for students wanting to learn hands on about agriculture.

Malorie is at our Cherry Research Station this summer, where she is milking cows, assisting with animal husbandry and research related field-work, and helping with the CEFS Small Farms Unit. She is currently a rising sophomore at NC State University where she is majoring in Crop and Soil Sciences with a concentration in Agronomy. We are glad to have you Malorie!
