Our office attended the Wayne County Manufactures Association meeting yesterday! We are grateful for our partnership with North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region and the important work our local businesses are doing for Wayne County!

The Wayne County Manufacturers Association gathered today for our association lunch at Richards Building Supply, bringing together local manufacturing leaders for networking, conversation, and an informative program. 🤝

Gary Tillman, Emergency Management Coordinator for Wayne County, joined us to discuss disaster preparedness, sharing valuable insight on emergency planning, preparedness, and the importance of having a plan in place before an emergency occurs. Events like these allow our members to gain practical information and resources while connecting with fellow businesses and organizations across Wayne County.

Of course, we had a little fun, too! 🎉 Congratulations to Hayley Van Winkle, Safety Manager at Uchiyama, who was the lucky winner of a basket filled with all kinds of Wayne County goodies!

We are proud to continue fostering collaboration among Wayne County’s manufacturing community and creating opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together!

Have you seen our new Agriculture Building on campus?! Check out their progress below!

The Wayne Community College Agriculture Building is nearly complete, with only a few tasks remaining. Over the past couple of weeks, Jackson Builders, Inc. has completed final details, including restroom tiling, final painting, exterior trim, and paving the parking lot and driveway.

Landscaping and final grading around the building and walking trail, along with the animal pens and fencing, are scheduled for completion in the coming days.

We are glad to see this project come to fruition and excited to see students use this new facility to expand their hands-on learning in agricultural education.
