“The less educated are the easiest to be manipulated.”
We must march or else generations will continue to be taken advantage of. Let’s keep great teachers in the classroom by providing support and showcasing our appreciation. 👩🏫🧑🏫👨🏫✏️📚🚌
Who better to advocate for those who educate than a teacher? 💕💕
This isn’t just about teacher pay it’s about increasing funding needed to support our schools to assure the best education for our youth!

Learning that plantation owners in Durham had slaves not only here in Goldsboro, but all the way down in Alabama was shocking.
Learning that slaves working near the manipulated water used to power grist mills were purposely exposed to malaria and died at rapid rates, was devastating.
But seeing the imprint of an enslaved child’s fingers on bricks was too much for my mothering heart. ⛈️
So happy to sing spirituals alongside teachers and gospel singer Mary D. Williams to encompass progression. 🌦️
This experience was filled with remembrance, reflection and resilience 🔆
Thank you for giving us teachers Church on Sunday! And the reunion with my PD Bestie Mrs. Leah Amos 🥹♥️ NC Department of Natural & Cultural Resources

So grateful for the Insightful discussions and truth telling. The screening of the Wilmington 1898 American Coup was—as always-powerful and emotional. BUT the audience did this film due diligence by conversing alongside the panel to discuss how to move forward.
🎯share the history
🎯address the media’s agenda to share false narratives (the rhetoric spread in the newspaper contained false depictions leading to the coup)
🎯debunk how it’s relevant to today and allow for mature raw discussion and feedback
A few takeaways— needed a tape recorder to share the experience with others, beyond powerful.
Thanks again to Carolina K-12 Working Films LeRae Sikes Umfleet Cori Lanae Greer-Banks Keith Harper for leading the discussion and majorly supporting!
