Hello Classmates,

Ayutla is all booked up, they took a bigger party then what we could offer them.

I have spent the day calling other Restaurants in the Goldendale area and Nothing is available of course.

That being said, I called Bob's Texas T-Bone & Frosty's Lounge, 101 1st St. in Rufus, OR and they have us on the board for their banquet room which holds 40 people on Saturday, July 8th. I'm thinking if we all get there by 5PM, is a good time to meet as they close at 9PM.

Is everyone still on board that has RSVP me for the NO-HOST Dinner on Saturday, July 8th? Now that I had to change locations at the last couple of weeks.

Please let me know if u will be attending the NO-HOST Dinner on Saturday, July 8th at Rufus, OR.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PRINT THIS OUT AS THIS IS THE SCHEDULE FOR OUR 55TH CLASS REUNION FOR THURSDAY, JULY 6TH THROUGH SATURDAY, JULY 8TH!

Thursday, July 6th at 5pm: meet at Legion (across the street from the Presby Museum) for a No-Host (order off menu) Dinner.

Friday, July 7th: I scheduled us at 10:30 AM to meet with our tour guides at the Primary School on Friday, July 7th, then we can drive or walk over to the middle school with our tour guides. We won't be able to tour the High School as they are upgrading it, new carpet, new gym floor and etc.
After we are done there we can go to a No-Host lunch and then Molly we can tour the old Primary School/Church and take all the time we want without being rushed. When done there everyone can go their separate ways or hangout with classmates.

Saturday, July 8th - Day Time: Everyone can hangout with family members, classmates, take in the Community Days Parade or tour on their own to Maryhill Museum and etc.

Saturday Night, July 8th: Meet at Ayutla's Restaurant on Simcoe Drive for a No-Host Dinner at 4:30 PM until 8 PM. I need to know how many bodies will be attending the No-Host Dinner on this night. Please RSVP at [email protected] if you are coming or not by June 24th.
Also Please let other classmates know as I didn't send any invitation out this year to classmates.

On Saturday night we also need to choose who will organize and get the 60th Class Reunion going in 2028 or if we want it earlier.

I (JACKIE MORRIS) IS done planning class reunions, so do not ask me to do another! You just need to FIGURE OUT WHO YOU ARE GOING TO SUCKER IN TO DO THE NEXT ONES!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

From the event organizer:Thursday night, July 6th: Get together Dinner in Downtown Goldendale - No Host!
Friday, July 7th: Tour the old Primary School and the one used now in the morning. No Host lunch together at the food court on Simcoe. Afternoon tour the Jr High and High School buildings.
Then everyone can go their separate ways.

Happy New Year everyone!

We need everyone's email address or snail mail address so that we can send out the following Schedule for our 50th Class Reunion this year. Will be sending out information last of February or first of March that we need back before May 1, 2018, so we can finish getting everything set in place.

The Schedule for the 50th Class Reunion:

Thursday, Sept 6, 2018, at 4 pm with a tour of the Presby, watching a slide show of the 50's & 60's in Goldendale, and a potluck on the porch.

Friday, Sept 7, 2018, a tour of Old Barns and the Military road to Block House, then a lite lunch at the Legion for $10 a plate, there will be a presentation of the Military Road. For dinner No-Host at Ayutla Restaurant at 630 Simcoe Dr at 6 pm.

Saturday, Sept 8, 2018, is a free time for everyone to visit family, or Maryhill Museum/Winery or Stonehenge or check out the Wind Mills in area. Meet at the Cemetery early in the afternoon to put memorial wreaths on classmates graves that have passed before us, more information later. We will be meeting at No-Host Dwinell Country Ales after cemetery visits. The Glass Onion will be bringing dinner in for us, not sure what we will have yet depends on how many are attending that evening.

Sunday, Sept 9, 2018 No-Host Goodbye Breakfast. Not sure where yet, need to know how many will be attending.

We don't know how much this will cost at this time, we will know more in May after we get the number that will be attending.

Roberta Riches-Stewart and I have been working on our 50th Class Reunion which will be held September 6 through September 9, 2018. We have planned a visit to the Presby Museum Thursday, September 6 evening with a Potluck dinner. Friday, September 7th, Barn, Military Road Tour & Memorial at Centerville Cemetery for deceased classmates, plus $10 a plate lunch after tour with a Military Road Presentation included and a No-Host dinner later that evening. Saturday, September 8th will be a free day, with us meeting at cemetery in afternoon for memorial for deceased classmates. We will be meeting at Dwinell Country Ales on Saturday night for dinner and visiting. Sunday, September 9th No-Host Breakfast if enough classmates are interested.

Greetings! (Please see schedule at end)

We were teens in the 60’s! What an era to be from. Here we are and have mostly survived. We will come together to renew our past, see how everyone is doing and just say hello.

The memories we like to think about are usually good ones. They help us remember when life as youngsters was sometimes fun, intense, and disappointing. We had visions, some realistic and some not. We did not understand yet that you can’t change others but only yourself. We remember the big popularity issue which became insignificant as we moved into the real world of adults. We dealt with women’s lib, drugs, alcohol, free love, hippies and “different strokes for different folks.” Our parents didn’t understand us and were just not that cool. It took us years to understand they did the best they could with the tools they had.

We still used phrases which are a sign of our era.
Right on, Cool, Too much, Hassle, Chill out, Blown away…. Most of us have given up the term “groovy” but we still secretly think it’s cool. We are having lots of trouble understanding the new lingo. What is “tight” anyway? And what is lol, wtf, bff?

We think we are the original “rock & rollers.” We listen to the oldies radio stations and know most of the words to “Jeremiah was a Bullfrog.” We miss Elvis and were stunned to know he used drugs. Drugs. Some got into them & some stayed away. Some finally got bored and some died from overdose. We watched friends throw their life away for the drugs and say “thank God there wasn’t M**h or Crack back then.” We were told acid expanded your mind and it did. No one mentioned it could burn the brain out and leave your permanently stoned.

Back in high school we didn’t have seat belts, computers, satellite TV, cell phones, microwaves, car door beepers, digital video cameras, email, Facebook, the internet & online banking. Now some of us think we need them all. Everybody needs to know how to type. And to think we actually thought Miss Foth was an old fuddy duddy. She was a woman before her time!



So here are a few of my memories:
Mr. Oxwang. He was a good guy. When called to his office he usually just visited.
Mr. Callan: DE class. He made it fun and taught us how to win in a job interview.
Mrs. Garner: She taught French and told us when she finally got to France she had trouble communicating.
Mrs. Hudson: A sweet lady that used to run out of air as she talked.
Mrs. Jensen: The best Home Ec teacher ever, but what ugly dresses we had to model.
Mr. Erland: So much fun and a champion of women! Great teacher!
Herm & Oscar the janitors. What a couple of great guys! How they cleaned up after us and kept smiling is beyond me. They would actually let you back in the school if you forgot something.

Most of us have had some tragedy in our lives. Several of our classmates are gone. Some have lost friends, parents, spouses, siblings & even children. And that’s why it may be a good thing to look back on simpler, more care-free times. Some of you may have found high school painful. I hope you are able to leave the bad times behind. Our perceptions of life during the teen years can be very distorted. For all of you that have raised teens or been involved with youth understand. I am thankful I have made it this far and hope you are too. As our world changes, I feel like growing up in a small community was one of the best things in my life. For those of you that remain in Goldendale, I hope you come to see us and share your knowledge of how our little town has changed from when we were kids.

Menu: Brats & hamburgers, potato salad, potluck side dishes (travelers not expected to potluck), snacks, beer, pop & water. Plates, cups, eating utensils etc. provided.
Saturday July 6th, picnic in Ekone Park Noon to 2:00 (please bring lunch, lawn chairs/blanket for yourselves).

This is the 4th of July weekend and Goldendale Community Days. We hope those of you that can come early and take in the community events will do so!
