Join us as representatives from Jeffco’s Gifted & Talented Department and JAGC discuss how to effectively advocate for your student. This session will include what advocacy looks like and what it shouldn’t look like, how to know when to step in and when to let your child work through something, and how to collaborate with the educators in your child(ren)’s lives. We will also discuss where you can go and what resources are available if your issue isn’t being resolved at the school level.

Understanding Your Rainforest Mind—Guidance for Gifted Adults
Using examples from her counseling/consulting practice and her books, Paula will detail the complexities of adult giftedness and provide strategies and resources to help these adults understand themselves and their rainforest minds, build healthy relationships, and find self-acceptance and purpose. Issues include: sensitivities, perfectionism, multipotentiality, anxiety, intuition, and relationships.
Bio:
Paula Prober is a psychotherapist, consultant, blogger, and author in private practice based in Eugene, Oregon, USA. For the past 30+ years her clients have been intellectually and creatively gifted adults and parents of gifted children. Along with counseling in Oregon, she consults internationally with these individuals. Paula has been a teacher of gifted children and presenter at universities, webinars, podcasts, and conferences. She has written articles on giftedness for Psychotherapy Networker, Advanced Development Journal, the Eugene Register-Guard and online for Thrive Global, Rebelle Society, psychotherapy.net, Highly Sensitive Refuge, and Introvert Dear.

CAGT Annual Student Art Contest
Students who attend any K-12 school or homeschool in the state of Colorado are invited to create an outstanding piece of original artwork which interprets this year’s CAGT Conference theme: “Imagine, Believe, Grow.” As always, the Art Contest Committee will be very selective about which artwork will be chosen and displayed this fall due to the limited space at the annual conference. Conference participants will view and vote for their favorite artwork.

CAGT Conference Registration Open
We are excited to announce that registration for the 45th Annual CAGT Conference, Imagine, Believe, Grow, this October 8th-10th is now open! This event offers over 80 sessions, including four keynote speakers, which will examine various facets of the giftedness of our diverse gifted youth. These presentations will delve into what educators and GT supporters need to know about the vast and varied GT child. With registration open now, school districts can use some of their remaining 2022-23 funds to cover the cost of this fall conference! Register now and reserve spots to take advantage of early bird pricing!

Once again, we are looking forward to enjoying another SPARKS GT Enrichment Program with our Jeffco gifted learners this year! Similar to last year, we will be offering a 1 week morning OR afternoon program to stimulate and enrich GT students.
June 5-9
Everitt Middle School
Cost is $205 plus class fees
Choose from either
AM classes: 8:30-10:30 OR
PM classes: 12:30-2:30
To allow for greater access for all students, choose 1 morning OR 1 afternoon class - students should only select 1 class!
Classes will be limited to 15 students
All Jeffco safety procedures will be followed
Open to all Jeffco identified GT students entering grades 1 through 8 in the 2023-24 school year

CAGT is excited to bring you a new virtual piece of the 2022 conference!
This event provides the opportunity for you to view and learn from up to 25 recordings from our fall conference, Unconventionally, Unconditionally Gifted. We are offering four different series from which you can pick one, two, three, all four or any combination that suits your needs. Each series caters to different topics that pertain to our gifted learners: Social Emotional, Twice Exceptional, Identification and Support, and Academics.
