Many Golden View kindergarteners begin the school year still learning how to hold a pencil. Just a few short weeks later, they are writing complete words! We are so grateful for the love, patience, and dedication our teachers and teaching aides provide as they guide our youngest students​.

Our staff shared a few special “Sentinel Shout-Outs” for Golden View 1st grade teacher Mrs. Mathew last week!

"Mrs. Mathew is doing amazing work in 1st grade. She filled in when we needed her and she's guiding these first graders, with compassion, understanding, and a whole bunch of knowledge. Her passion and commitment are admirable."

What a day we had at Golden View today!

We celebrated Constitution Day with our annual BBQ, and this year we added even more fun with an ice cream truck and a dunk tank! Students earned tickets for the chance to dunk their teachers—and they certainly made the most of it!

Congratulations to 1st grader Wills Ruga, who had the honor of being the first student to dunk Mr. Calvino!

Some lucky third graders got to pick fresh tomatoes during their recess! Thanks to one of our wonderful Golden View families, our school is home to a beautiful garden filled with fruits, vegetables, and flowers for our staff and students to enjoy.

Golden View Classics teacher Mr. van Uden had the honor of joining the cast of the Adelphae this summer at the Thalia Theater Festival in Braga, Portugal. The Adelphae, written by Aloysius Aeschliman and directed by Patricia Aeschliman (from Hillsdale College), is a comedy written entirely in Latin verse with musical accompaniment on the double reed pipe (tibiae) by R.W. Enoch. The play itself is an adaptation of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" and Terence's "Adelphoe".
