Colorado’s nuclear future is taking center stage at Mines. Join industry leaders, researchers and policymakers for the Mines Nuclear Energy Symposium: Colorado’s Nuclear Future: Opportunities and National Considerations on Thursday, Nov. 12, here on campus.

Explore advancements in new reactor design, nuclear fuel cycle technologies and the evolving global energy landscape. The symposium kicks off Wednesday, Nov. 11, with an exclusive tour of Mines’ Nuclear Science and Engineering Center, followed by a networking reception with fellow industry innovators.

The energy transition depends on critical minerals like copper, lithium and rare earths. As the easiest deposits become harder to find, securing a stable supply will require new advances in subsurface sensing and exploration technology.

HardTech Forum is coming to Mines on Saturday, Sept. 26, presented by MistyWest in partnership with the Denver Mineral Exploration Symposium. Join from 5–6:30 p.m. for a panel and open Q&A in the East Classroom Building, followed by a reception from 6:30–9 p.m. at the Mines Geology Museum with food and drinks.

Fall Career Days at Mines brought together more than 200 companies, 4,000 students each day, and 500+ alumni, creating meaningful opportunities for Orediggers to connect, network, and explore what’s next.

Both days, we hosted an Alumni Happy Hour at Mountain Toad, giving alumni a chance to connect and network off campus. We had 76 Orediggers join us on just day one alone! Thank you everyone who showed up, shared their experiences, and built connections that can last well beyond Career Days.

Kerry Siggins ’01 was named the Miner of the Game during Mines’ first football game of the season, recognizing her lasting impact on the Mines community and her continued support. A former Mines softball athlete, Kerry credits her experience at Mines with helping shape both her career and her approach to leadership.

As CEO of StoneAge, she has spent nearly two decades leading with the same work ethic, accountability and perseverance she developed as a student-athlete. Softball also played an important role in helping Kerry find her place at Mines. After breaking her finger during her freshman season and missing part of the year, returning to the field with her teammates was a moment she has never forgotten.

Today, Kerry supports Mines Athletics because she wants current student-athletes to experience the same sense of belonging, community and support that athletics provided for her. Her commitment helps create opportunities for Orediggers to grow both on the field and beyond it.

Long before Mines welcomed women to its football sidelines, Sherry Lee Jimerson was cheering on the Orediggers as Head Cheerleader while attending Colorado Women’s College. Now known as Sherry Engleberg, she’s still cheering from the stands or from home! She watches as many televised Mines games as she can and still knows all the words to “Helluva Engineer.”

During the first home game of the season, her granddaughter brought her back to campus for her first Mines football game in years! And, of course, Sherry was proudly sporting her Oredigger colors and her letter.
