The PCHS Cross-Country team has just completed two more races in their regular season schedule. On Thursday, September 24th the high schoolers competed in Vienna High School’s 2.85 mile Equinox Invitational held at the VHS football field. Despite the heat, the Pirate runners had a great run. Senior Abe Hungate was first in for the Pirate’s, marking a time of 19:40 and placing 22nd overall. Sophomore Liam Comer placed 27th with a time of 20:15. Freshmen Colton Albrecht finished in 44th at 22:54 and Dominic Albrecht finished 49th at 23:44. For the ladies, Senior Everly Ryder finished 13th with a time of 25:40 and Sophomore Adalyn Ryder came in 15th at 27:50.

Then, on Tuesday, September 29th, the high school team traveled to West Frankfort to compete in the Redbird 6+ race. For the ladies, Everly Ryder finished the 3-mile run 28th at 26:39 and Adalyn Ryder finished 32nd at 28:17. On the boys side, Liam Comer finished 47th at 19:43, running 1:09 faster than last year on the same course. Abe Hungate came in 54th at 20:49, improving his time on the same course by 8-seconds over last year. Colton Albrecht was 69th at 23:27 and Dominic Albrecht was 75th at 26:28.

Next up, the Pirates head to Harrisburg High School for the Chuck Ingram Invitational on Wednesday, October 7th and the GEC Conference Meet at Lake Glendale on Thursday, October 15th.
