Sometimes life leaves me speechless. This is one of those moments. What seemed like a small project given to me from the amazing folks at Goedecke, quickly turned into me realizing that I was being asked to recreate an important piece of interior design/furniture history.
The "S" on the balusters in this photo is the first letter of the last name “Stickley” - as in Gustav Stickley - the furniture designer who helped establish the Arts and Crafts(man) Movement.
As the initial meeting unfolded with the client earlier this week, I began to realize that 1810 was being hired to recreate a piece from one of the most notable furniture designers of all time.
I am truly grateful and honored to be a part of this project. I can't tell you how inspiring this has been for me. I am my own biggest critic and sometimes I am really hard on myself. This has put some fresh wind into my sails. I can't wait to see this come to life. There will be videos.
Cheers and happy Friday!
