Ramm-Crete Workshop Recap, Learn Rammed Earth Concrete Furniture — Concrete Design School 02/05/2026

Our most recent Ramm-Crete Workshop brought together artisans from all over the country to get their hands dirty, and learn how to build rammed earth–inspired concrete furniture the right way. Tables were built, GFRC tops were cast, samples went home, and a lot of hard-earned knowledge changed hands.

If you’re wondering what it’s like to step into this work and come out with real, usable skills, this recap shares that experience.

You can read it here 👇

🚨 Let’s Help a Fellow Craftsman 🚨

Noel Moniot, a longtime concrete artisan and friend to many in this industry, just had his trailer stolen—along with all the tools and equipment he relies on.

If you’ve met Noel, learned from him, or just believe in supporting a fellow maker in need, now’s the time to step up.

We’re rallying the concrete community to help replace what was lost and get him back to work. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.

Let’s show Noel that in this trade, we take care of our own. 💪

This past weekend, a group of makers stepped into the arena at the Concrete Design School February 2025 Fundamentals Workshop—and walked out with more than just great-looking concrete. They cast a side table with an inlay and lamp attachment, built a textured display for some fresh Kodiak Pro merch, and, more importantly, left with the kind of knowledge that turns curiosity into mastery.

If you're ready to get your hands dirty and sharpen your craft, here’s what’s coming up:

📍 RammCrete Workshop – March 29-30 | Goddard, KS
📍 Fundamentals Workshop – June 7-8 | Goddard, KS
📍 Concrete Hero’s Quest – May 6-9 | Napa, CA (details coming soon)

After a short break, I’m back at it! Here are some photos from last weekend’s RammCrete Workshop. The attendees were incredible and built a display plinth for some architectural models. While I’m a fan of the plinth they made, I’ll be remaking it in a brown color. Turns out the green pigment we used is about 4x pricier than reds or browns—using it for my current rammed earth project would cost over $100k in pigment alone! I’ll be experimenting with various red and brown pigments to find the best match for the final project and then recreate the plinth in that color. I’m also upgrading to larger casters—4” wheels just aren’t cutting it for an 800+ lb piece.
