The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts - upstate New York's premier community arts center - houses exceptional art venues, hosts family fun events and provides educational opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and artistic skills. Located on 66 picturesque acres in Fulton County, NY, the Nigra Arts Center offers a wide range of classes and workshops on everything from music, dance and

painting to culinary arts and yoga. Plays, concerts, art exhibitions, and winter/summer day camps for children are just some of our other offerings. Additionally, we provide a beautiful and professional setting for corporate events such as conferences, retreats and private functions.

🎨 Calling all artists everywhere! The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts is seeking submissions for our final show of the year – the 2026 Reflection Art Show.

Art of all media and any subject matter is welcome in this all-inclusive exhibition. Help us close out 2026 and welcome 2027 with your best new art, or reflect on the past by showing off your favorite pieces from your portfolio!

The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts is happy to announce the award winners for our eighth annual Membership Art Show! In honor of the member artists who support our operations year-round, we’re proud to offer the following awards in three categories:

Best in Show – Photography
First Place: “Crowning Glory” by Gary Larsen (Edinburg, NY)
Second Place: “Into the Light” by Thomas Sturm (Caroga Lake, NY)
Honorable Mention: “Morning Stroll” by Deborah Bryk (Saratoga Springs, NY)

Best in Show – 3D Art
First Place: “Rain Forest Drum” by Karen Elem (Gansevoort, NY)
Second Place: “Winifred” by Laurie Snell (Northville, NY)

Today’s the day! We hope to see you at the Meet the Artists Opening Reception - 2026 Membership Art Show this evening, 4-7 p.m., at the Nigra Arts Center.

Come browse an incredible collection of over 120 pieces in a wide variety of 2D and 3D media by more than 50 of our member artists and vote on your favorites to win our Community Choice Award, sponsored by Kathleen Marshall! This is a great opportunity to connect with the local arts community over light refreshments, stunning artwork and a beautiful atmosphere.

There is no fee to attend the reception. Stop by any time between 4 and 7 p.m. See you soon!

🧶 It’s almost fall – come learn how to hand-knit your own blankets to keep the chill away!

Under the guidance of instructor Lynette May, students will learn how to use nothing but chenille yarn and their own hands to make their own customized lap blankets. No needles or previous knitting experience required, and everyone will go home with their own blanket in just a few hours!

This class is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fee is $60 – all materials provided. Come enjoy a fun and relaxing creative morning with us and leave with a cozy new addition to your home! You are all invited to the Meet the Artists Opening Reception - 2026 Membership Art Show this Thursday, September 3, 4-7 p.m.!

This exhibition highlights the member artists who support us year-round. This year, over 120 pieces by more than 50 members are on display. They will hang in our gallery now until October 22.

The reception is a great opportunity to browse the beautiful new show while meeting some of the featured artists. Our eighth annual Membership Art Show is on display now until October 22!

This special showcase of the talents of our member artists features work in a wide variety of media, from paintings and photography to ceramics and fiber arts and everything in between. There is no better collection of work to represent the arts community in our region and we can’t wait for you to see it in person!

All are invited to this show’s Meet the Artists Opening Reception next Thursday, September 3, 4-7 p.m. This evening of art appreciate will include light refreshments, mingling with some of the featured artists and an awards ceremony at about 5:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!
