Please welcome our new head of food service. We are so excited to have her join the GCS family.

"Hi my name is Heather Neal. I am the new food service manager at Glover Community School. This is a new position for me but I’m super excited for the opportunity. I have lived in Glover for 26 years. I have 3 children who attended Glover School from k-8, and because of that Glover Community School is very special to me. In my spare time I love to be with my family and friends. I love to cook and I love to watch sports. I hope that we can all have a safe, fun, and healthy year."

Though Samantha Cochran is not new to GCS, she was not formally introduced last school year, so here's a bit about our awesome school counselor.

"Hi All,

My name is Samantha Cochran and this is my 2nd year working as the school counselor at Glover Community School and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it! I am so happy and proud to work with such a wonderful group of students and staff.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I also did dual internships at Laraway and for College Steps. Additionally, I have been working in the school system for six years with k-8 students.

If I'm not looking for my phone, wallet, or car keys you will find me dancing, hula hooping, thrifting, or doing outdoor activities.

Last year I loved getting to know the students and staff. I grew as a professional and learned so much from the students. I am looking forward to this school year and cannot wait to see everyone’s eyes again! 😷"

Please meet Patrick Butterfield, our new SEL specialist.

"Hey Everyone! My name is Patrick Butterfield and I am the new SEL Specialist at GCS! Prior to Glover I worked in the Center for Exceptional Children, located in Barton. I spent almost 12 years in the US Army, half on Active Duty and half in the Vermont National Guard before being retired. I have coached basketball in Junior Hoop, Junior High in Orleans, and AAU, as well as multiple levels of baseball and referee soccer games. My wife, Erica, and I have 4 children aged 15, 9, 8, and 1 1/2.

In my spare time I enjoy hunting, biking, watching sports (especially when my kids play!), reading, learning anything about history, and gardening both in my flower and vegetable gardens. I grew up in Barton and am a 2002 graduate of Lake Region. My wife grew up in Orleans and is a 2001 LR graduate. I hunted all around in my youth and checked in my share of deer at the old Currier's Quality Market.

I am a big believer in community and furthering education in a student focused manner. It is my belief that we are all lifelong learners! I cannot wait to get to work at Glover Community School and be involved in the Glover Community! See you all soon!"
