The GHS music program has a long and proud history of serving the Gloucester area with outstanding musical experiences. From the old GHS Marching Band to the Docksiders and Chorus of today, we are striving to bring a rich musical experience to our region. The GHS Music Department is made up of a number of ensembles and classes totaling over 70 students. The Docksiders Stage Band is our school’s ja
zz ensemble and is one of the school’s most recognized organizations. This group comes from a treasured background since its inception in the early 2000’s under former director David Adams. This group performs regularly for the Cape Ann community, so keep an eye out! The GHS Chorus is a wonderful group of students that sings a wide range of musical genres. These students are dedicated to bringing a foundation of vocal and musical distinction, and are enthusiastic about learning the traditions of the choral medium. Other classes within the Music Department include Music Fundamentals, Audio & Visual Music Technology, and our Ukulele course Uke Can Do It! These courses are designed to involve more of the Gloucester High School population in the brilliance or music. We hope that you take some time to come out to one of our many performances, or take some time to talk to our students about their GHS music experiences. If you have any questions or would like to talk to someone more about music at Gloucester High School, please feel free to contact our Music Director, Cole Lundquist, using contact info on our page.
