Christ Church in Philadelphia - home of Fisk Opus 150. Great to be back for this week’s Organ Historical Society convention.

When we think of Benjamin Franklin, we usually think of electricity, printing presses, or diplomatic strategy. But he was also interested in music. This connection takes center stage tomorrow!

In the 18th century, Franklin organized a lottery in Philadelphia to help fund the steeple and organ gallery for Christ Church -- one of the sites on the schedule for this week's Organ Historical Society convention in Philadelphia. Come join us - see if you can find his pew!

And just like that, the first batch of the facade pipes is in for Opus 166! 🎉

The voicing continues! From some of the very smallest to the very bigger pipes, we’ve been having a wonderful time the last couple weeks with the mixtures and the Contre Basson for Opus 166. 😁 We’re also looking forward to installing the first of the facade pipes in a couple weeks from now. 🎉

The coupler stack for Opus 170 is ready to go! There are a lot of moving parts that live behind the keyboards, so here’s the inside look!

Photo 2: Fins that turn on/off different couplers, guides to keep all the trackers working nicely, and square rails for when it all goes back to the wind chests!

Photo 3: A lovely little rollerboard to bring the pedal board - which is a bit wider than the coupler stack - into the same scale as everything else. You can also see the backfalls that connect the couplers together!

Photo 4: You can see where the pedal board lines up with the coupler stack! Everything under those levers will go under the floor.

Photo 5: Starting to add the trackers that will go into the backs of the keyboards! You can see where they line up with the coupler backfalls and they go all the way down to the square rails. 😁

For summer 2026, First Lutheran Church of Boston and Old West Organ Society will cosponsor Tuesday night organ concerts at First Lutheran. The first concert will be July 7 at 8pm.

An update on our progress for Opus 170 in the last couple weeks! More aluminum, key action, wind chests, etc. 🎉

Aluminum is on the CNC for Opus 170! The result will be a starting point for putting the console together, a couple of roller boards, and pile of really sharp glitter. 🎉

Making our way through voicing the 8’ Flues on the Great and the Positif for Opus 166! We are gradually running out of space for the work space inside the boxes and looking forward to start unpacking some of the Reed pipes next week. 🎉
