Today was a pretty exciting day at Little Loggers Playschool! 🚓💙

A huge thank you to the Winston Police Department for spending the morning with our kids. They brought a patrol car, shared some awesome goodies, and gave everyone a chance to get up close with the equipment they use every day including shields, spike strips, safety gear, and so much more.

The kids had a blast asking questions, climbing through the patrol car, and learning that police officers are helpers in our community. Hands-on experiences like this build confidence, spark curiosity, and help create positive connections that can last a lifetime.

Thank you, Winston Police Department, for taking the time to invest in our little learners. We appreciate everything you do! 👮🚔🌲💚

We want to share that Lesli, Director of Little Loggers Playschool, will be transitioning out of her role after accepting a new opportunity in her dream field.

Lesli was the key leader while launching Little Loggers and helped guide the program through several important building and operational transitions. We appreciate the role she played in helping establish the center and wish her the best in this next chapter.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to share that Amanda will be stepping in as Interim Director. Amanda has been a dedicated teacher at Little Loggers for quite some time and is already a familiar and trusted presence for our students and families. Her experience within the program and strong connection to the classroom will help ensure a smooth transition and continued stability for the center.

Amanda shared about stepping into this new role:
"I am passionate about creating a fun, supportive environment where children can explore, play, and grow. I believe early childhood is a powerful time for building confidence, curiosity, and strong relationships. My goal is to support both our children and our teachers while creating a welcoming community for the families we serve."

Little Loggers Playschool was created to serve the families of our community, and we remain deeply committed to that mission. We’re grateful for the amazing staff, children, and families who continue to make this program such an important part of the Glide community, and we look forward to this next chapter together.

At Little Loggers Playschool today, we will be learning all about Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here is how we will explore it together:

Today we are learning about a man named Martin Luther King Jr. He believed that everyone should be treated kindly and fairly. He used calm words and peaceful actions to help make the world a better place.

Martin Luther King Jr. shared his dream that one day everyone would be treated with fairness and kindness, no matter the color of their skin. He imagined a world where people could play together, learn together, and be friends, and where problems were solved peacefully instead of with anger or violence.

What does kindness mean?
How can we show fairness at school?

Two of the projects we will do today are “I Have a Dream” Clouds and Each Child Shares One Kind Action. For the second project, each child will share one kind action, which I will write on a paper strip. We will then link the strips together and hang them in the room.

One kind act connects to another. Together, we make our classroom better.

We will also include a picture for the kids of Martin Luther King Jr.

💛 With mixed emotions, we’re saying goodbye to our beloved Teacher Bridget 💛

As Teacher Bridget and her son embark on an exciting new adventure and start a new chapter in Washington State, our hearts are full of both pride and sadness. While we are truly going to miss her at Little Loggers, we are so excited for what lies ahead for her little family.

Bridget has been an incredible asset to our childcare center and to the families we serve. Her dedication, kindness, and passion for teaching have left a lasting impact on our children, staff, and community. She will be deeply missed, but her influence will always be a part of Little Loggers.

We wish you nothing but happiness, success, and new adventures, Bridget! Your new employer and their families are lucky to have you! ❤️
