Don’t let your oak trees suffer and die like these former beauties! (photo taken in Glenwood, MN.)
The Glenwood, Alexandria and surrounding communities have seen a dramatic increase in damaged, dying and dead oak trees from Two-Line Chestnut Borer. With a huge increase in populations of this bug, brought on by years of drought and other factors it has become a major problem. Similar to Emerald Ash Borer which is killing millions of ash trees, this insect typically attacks stressed oak trees and can kill a tree within 1-3 years, if treatments are not timely.

Hello friends and neighbors! As the holidays approach, Melissa and I want to take a moment to reflect on this past year with gratitude and appreciation. It’s been an amazing 2025 at Hi-View Tree Care, and that’s all thanks to you—our loyal clients and community supporters.

From trimming and treating trees to diagnosing pest problems, your trust has kept us motivated all year long. We also want to give a heartfelt shoutout to everyone who stopped by our booth at local events or entered one of our giveaways. We loved answering your questions, sharing tree care tips, and hearing your stories. Your enthusiasm for keeping Minnesota’s trees healthy makes all the long days worthwhile!

As 2026 approaches, our focus remains on helping even more people protect their trees from pests like the Emerald Ash Borer and Two-Lined Chestnut Borer. These insects can be devastating, but preventive treatments and early action go a long way in saving valuable ash and oak trees before it’s too late.
