"When you look at nutrient-dense foods, you are looking for foods that have the highest concentrations of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, and phytonutrients per bite. Beef liver takes the prize here. It is high in Vitamin A, D, E, K, B12, Folate, Copper, and Iron. All key players in supporting your immune system."

Now more than ever, it is essential to look to foods that can strengthen your immune system, fight infections, help you process toxins, and give you the energy and stamina you need to power through your day. That's why it's essential to include "nutrient-dense" foods in your diet.

πŸ₯‘πŸ₯πŸ₯¦πŸ₯’πŸGreen foods (greens, collards, broccoli, bok choy, cabbage, kale, arugula, watercress, mustard, fennel, broccoli rabe and sprouts, etc.) indicates phytochemicals, isocyanates, indoles and sulforaphane, which raise glutathione, boost detoxification and inhibit carcinogens. Sea vegetables like seaweed or edible algae are rich source of iodine, strengthen the immune system, contain important antioxidants and nutrients to fight inflammation and even cancer. Cruciferous vegetables have so many nutrients (like A, C and K), are packed with fiber, have glucosinolate that can reduce inflammation and fight cancer.

🌈Rainbow foods can help the body work better, fight sickness, lower inflammation, optimize the immune system, feed the good friends in their bellies, get rid of toxins, and are packed with antioxidants.

Focus on eating lots of color and of different variety of veggies. Check out my book: Adam’s Healing Adventures: The Power of Rainbow Foods for a fun way to get your kids to eat the rainbow!

"It’s easy to tell people to eat fresh fruits and vegetables instead of subsidized commodities in processed foods, β€œbut affording healthy food is a challenge for millions of Americans – around 50 million Americans are food insecure – and it makes little sense to blame the working poor for their inability to afford to eat fewer subsidized foods and more fresh fruit and vegetables, when our modern food system is geared toward encouraging everyone to eating these commodity crops,”

– - The U.S. government spends billions of dollars each year on subsidies to farmers, but consuming too much food made from those subsidized farm products can boost people's risk for heart disease, researchers say.

"Over one-quarter of the population of the United States experience sleep problems, and nearly a third of adults experience at least one insomnia complaint. In addition, insomnia is one of the most ubiquitous complaints in psychiatric populations, including adults with major depressive disorder and is reported in 50–70% of primary care patients."
.."These studies suggest that sleep loss leading to impairment of immune functioning could be a significant factor contributing to a wide variety of disorders."
