Grades K–8 gathered for our Opening School Mass today as we embraced this year’s school theme: "Be You. Be Here. Belong!"
We were especially delighted to welcome Fr. John to his first all-school Mass with us. During his homily, Fr. John leaned into our theme of belonging. He shared a proverb he learned in Africa: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” He encouraged our students to carry that message with them throughout the year—to look around, include others, and make sure every classmate feels that they belong. What a beautiful way to begin our school year!

Our teachers and staff began their in-service meetings today. One highlight was everyone participating as a team in a drum circle facilitated by the Old Town School of Folk Music! This experiential team-building activity beautifully illustrated collaborative values: active listening, shared participation, and dynamic leadership. Experiencing these concepts through rhythm reinforces our commitment to operating as a unified school community.

Lexington Building construction update ... Pardon our dust! We are officially open, even if our space is still a work in progress. Please use the back door of Lexington. Summer office hours this week are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. We have a drop-off box that is checked daily for your convenience. We are hard at work upgrading to a secured front entrance and starting phase 1 of our new elevator. Thank you for your patience as we improve our school!
