Did you know that all of our students including kindergarten had summer reading assignments? Here our 1st grade students are presenting their summer reading book reports to their classmates. We are always trying to instill a love of reading across all of our grade levels and summer reading is only one of the ways we do this.

🎉🐝🦁✏️ What should the face of NHRCES be? 🦁✏️🐝🎉

As we prepare to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of North Hills Regional Catholic Elementary Schools in 2027, we're excited to create something fun that will bring all eight of our schools together - an NHRCES Regional Mascot!

Don't worry, this won't replace your school's mascot. Instead, it will give us a shared symbol to represent NHRCES at regional events, activities, and celebrations.

Now comes the fun part: we need your ideas! Whether it's an animal, a character, something inspired by our faith, our region, or our school spirit, we want to hear from you.

Our library is a great space for reading and exploration. Our 5th grade class had the opportunity to get a “taste test” for all different types of genres of books. They sampled books from six different genres, then reviewed those books and selected one to borrow independent reading. What a great way to develop a love of reading!

This weekend we celebrated a “Decade of Distance” as we hosted our 10th annual BTA Cross Country Invitational! It was a beautiful to show off our BTA campus to over 550 runners from 15 teams and their families. Congratulations to all of our medalists and our JV Lady Bulldogs on placing 3rd in their race!

Special thanks to our Athletics Association and all of our parents and volunteers. It was so nice to see so many of our alumni volunteering their time to make this event another huge success.

Today we celebrated our first all school mass of the school year and it was a very special one because we consecrated our school to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Fr. Tim spoke to us about how Jesus is the most perfect teacher which was the best way to begin our school year. He also threw in a special blessing for our cross country team, who are hosting their big invitational tomorrow. These opportunities to come together as a school community to celebrate Mass is only one of the many things that make catholic education so special!

The first cross country race of the season is in the books and our runners were super excited to show off their new uniforms. Thanks to Seelos Academy for hosting us at Pine Park. Congratulations to all of our runners especially to those who ran their very first race! We are looking forward to a great year of running and are very excited for our 10th annual BTA Invitational this weekend!

We were back in the garden getting ready for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry pick up which takes place every two weeks. Our garden helpers were thrilled to see so many green beans, tomatoes, carrots, beets, and zucchini after a long summer.
