Total Karate

Total Karate Though many individual styles exist, there are essentially two types of martial arts: Stand-up (i.e. Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Shotokan) and grappling (i.e.

TOTAL KARATE teaches all the skills, techniques, and discipline of traditional stand-up martial arts as well as all the mat work and ground techniques of submission wrestling combined into one system. Judo, Wrestling, Sambo). Both stand-up and grappling styles are of equal importance in the development of a true martial artist. Unfortunately most styles and systems emphasize only one of these two

aspects. Styles such as Judo, primarily a grappling art, teaches the occasional blocking or kicking technique. Likewise, styles such as Tae kwon Do, almost exclusively a stand-up art, teaches the occasional take-down or ground technique. Like most styles, these arts are very effective given the proper situation, but they become almost useless when forced out of their elements. At TOTAL KARATE you can gain all the skills, techniques, and discipline of a traditional stand-up martial art as well as all the mat work and ground techniques of submission wrestling (Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu) combined into one system.

Saturday Sept 26 is the North American Karate and Fitness Tournament. Anybody who is interested please let me know ASAP

Also, Saturday Oct 3rd is the Shaler Homecoming Parade. Anyone interested in marching with Total Karate please let me know.
