Teaching Assistant

Abraham Wing Elementary School has an anticipated opening for a Full Time Teaching Assistant for the 2026-2027 School Year. Applicants must have appropriate New York State Teaching Assistant certification.

In addition to the application on OLAS, please attach the following in OLAS:

• Letter of interest
• Updated resume
• Copy of certification (if applicable)
• Transcripts (if applicable)
• Three (3) current written letters of reference

We are excited to announce that the lottery for our new Universal Prekindergarten Program will open on Monday, July 27th. Registration will close on Thursday, August 13th at 3:00. The lottery will take place at Abraham Wing Elementary School at 3:30 on August 13th, 2026.

To be eligible for the Glens Falls Common School UPK Program:

*Your child must be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2026

*You and your child must reside in the Glens Falls Common School District

All students will be selected through a lottery to participate in the 2026-2027 UPK Program. There is a maximum of 16 enrollees.

The UPK Program will have one classroom at the Abraham Wing Elementary School and will follow the Glens Falls Common School District Calendar. The hours will be 9:00-2:30. Our UPK will offer a literacy rich learning environment designed to enhance children’s cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development while encouraging creativity through purposeful play.

If your child’s name is not drawn, you will be notified of where your child is seated on the waitlist. You will be notified if an opening becomes available during the 2026-2027 school year.

Registration Packets can be picked up Monday through Thursday from 8:00-3:00 in the school's Main Office at 120 Lawrence Street in Glens Falls. You can also call the school and request that a packet be mailed to you; please call (518) 792-3231.

From Warren County: Operation Food Chain is returning this summer with two locations for free lunch for those under 18 at two locations in Glens Falls.
EAST FIELD: Meals will be served from July 1 through August 15 at the East Field Pavilion in Glens Falls, Monday-Friday, from 12-12:30 p.m.
SALVATION ARMY: They will also be available from 1-1:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Glens Falls' facility on Broad Street.
Warren County Department of Workforce Development places teen workers with the program as part of Warren County Summer Youth Employment Program!
This is a great program to make sure our local students get a good meal when out of school!

June 25th- All students will be dismissed at 11:15am. Kindergarten Graduation at 9:00am, 6th Grade Graduation at 10:15am.

June 26th- Last day of school, all students will be dismissed at 9:15am.

In anticipation of the high heat index forecast for tomorrow, June 12, 2026, the district will be dismissing all students early at 11:15 AM to ensure the health and safety of our students.

Thursday, June 4th is Field Day! Parents can meet students on the back field at 9:00am. All students will be dismissed at 1:00pm. Please make sure that students are wearing sneakers, please also send in a towel and a change of clothes as students will be participating in water activities.
