Meet Queensbury High School Senior, Peyton Frank!

Tell us a bit about yourself.
"I’ve always had a passion for music and singing. Watching my brother perform from a young age, I knew I wanted to do the same. I have been doing voice lessons with Stephanie since I was about 9 years old. She’s has helped me grow so much throughout the years, as a person and a vocalist. I have been in many musicals. some of my favorite roles have been Anna in Frozen, Donkey in Shrek, Heather Duke in Heathers, and many more."

What is next for you?
"College, Suny Adirondack."

What is your favorite vocal memory?
"When I was given the task to sing a song that included belting for the first time, and I learned that I had it in me to do so."

What is your advice for younger vocalists?
"No matter where you are, there’s always room for improvement."

Congratulations Peyton! We are so proud of you!

Meet Glens Falls High School senior, Macklin McGrath!

Tell us a bit about yourself.
"I have been studying at the Studio for 4 years now after I started theater. I have been able to play roles like Barry Glickman in the Prom and Danny Zuko in Grease because of Stephanie's amazing help. I play bassoon, flute, a little saxophone, and a little less bass clarinet."

What is next for you?
"I am going to SUNY New Paltz for Physics Education with a minor in Theater"

What is your favorite vocal memory?
"My favorite memory is when I first started lesson and how bad I was compared to now. So I guess my favorite memory is every time I have gotten to work with Stephanie."

What is your advice to younger vocalists?
"Don’t worry about what other people think about you, as long as you are happy then no one else’s opinion matters (unless it’s your voice teacher… listen to them…)"

Congratulations Macklin! We are so proud of you!

"I have been a vocal student since 2019! I'm forever grateful to have such an amazing studio family! Some of my favorite onstage roles have been Dorothy Brock (42nd Street, WCS), Elle Woods (Legally Blonde, Broadway Upstate), Rosie (Mamma Mia!, WCS), Frenchy (Grease, Broadway Upstate), and Roxie Hart (Chicago, WCS). I'm also an avid dancer, and I have been taking dance classes for sixteen years. I've also performed on the respective stages of Proctors/Collaborative School of the Arts (2023-2026, various shows), Fort Salem Theater (Footloose, 2023), and Company of Curiosities (2023-2024, various shows). I'm looking forward to a future full of vocal and theatrical opportunities!"

What is next for you?
"A BFA in Musical Theatre at SUNY Cortland."

What is your favorite vocal memory?
"The spring recital at the end of my sophomore year of high school. I asked Macklin and Evan to be my backup dancers during the dance break of my performance, and the three of us had a ton of fun working together!! Missing this kind of stuff everyday!"

What advice to you have for younger vocalists?
"My best advice to younger vocalists is to be thorough with your studies, and to not be afraid to go back to your basics. Sometimes the best way to work through challenging sections of music is to strip it down to something simple and manageable and work on technique!"

We are so proud of you Annon!
