Many will remember Mvhayv from challenge bowl. He will be missed! Hvtvm Cehecares!

It is with a heavy heart that we at the Mvskoke Language Program share the passing of our long-time mvhayv, speaker, and jokester, Phillip (Oscar) Harjo. He was known by many for his humor and love for his language, and a prominent figure in the community. Phillip was wonderfully dedicated to teaching and spreading the joy of the Mvskoke language and will be deeply missed by family, friends, coworkers, students, and more.

We ask that you send your thoughts to his family and all whose lives he's touched during this very hard time.

Reminder, if you have any magazines that you want to get rid of, please donate to the Indian Education department. We are in need of some for projects. You can drop them off tonight during open house from 4 to 6pm or at the front desk of the middle school.

Last day for school supply pickup will be Tuesday August 11th. We will be in the office from 4pm to 7pm. Please stop by for your school supplies. If you did not preorder, come by and see if we have supplies available for their grade. We have a lot leftover and need them gone.

REQUEST: If you have a working fridge that needs a new home, please consider donating it to our Indian Education Program. Ours has quit working and we are in need. Our program does a lot of cultural cooking and we need a place to store our supplies.

Also we are in need of magazines for projects. Please drop any you have off at our Indian Education office.

JOM Supply Pickup location will be at the middle school JOM office and will be held on the following dates:

* Thursday, August 6th from 10:00am - 6:00pm
* Friday, August 7th from 10:00am - 5:00pm

If you did NOT pre-order school supplies or if your student is NEW to Glenpool schools, please contact the JOM office at [email protected] for assistance.

When picking up supplies, please bring the following:

* Parent/Grandparent CDIB card or Tribal Citizenship Card
* Student(s) CDIB card or Tribal Citizenship Card

We look forward to seeing everyone and as always, IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE A WARRIOR.

All emails will be returned on Monday and Tuesday. We are still out of the office for the summer until Monday. Thank you for understanding.

Congratulations to Jayleigh Harjo and Alina Harjo. Both girls ran for jr Miss and Miss Mvskoke Creek Nation and both were named runner-up for each division. We are so proud of you both!
