Nurturing the minds, bodies, and spirits of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities

The Camphill School’s mission is to create wholeness for children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities through education and therapy in extended family living so that they may be better understood, they may more fully unfold their potential, and they may meaningfully participate in life. We offer residential and day academic and prevocational programs, as well as therapeutic

care, for children in kindergarten through grade twelve. We also offer a Transition Program for young people ages eighteen to twenty-two. The Camphill School is a Waldorf school accredited by AWSNA and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. Our school also is licensed by the Pennsylvania Departments of Education and Public Welfare and we are a Pennsylvania Approved Private School for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are part of the worldwide Camphill movement and the only Camphill community in North America for children.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today, we're celebrating the four-legged friends who make our campus a little brighter every day. From the resident dogs at Beaver Run and Beaver Farm to the pups who support and serve our students, these loyal companions hold a special place in our hearts.

It's Farm Friday!

We are excited to share this post from the crew :

"We are so grateful for everyone who attended The Camphill School Gala at Foxfield Flowers in May! Thanks to their generosity we have been able to not only purchase a van to transport our flowers - we now have a tractor! This will save our backs and allow us to grow even more beautiful flowers to share with you all."

The Stone House crew recently traded farm views for ocean views during their Extended School Year beach trip! ☀️🌊

With beautiful weather, plenty of fun, and time spent bonding with friends and housemates, it was the perfect way to make memories before summer break began. 💙

Our ESY students were treated to a wonderful performance by on Tuesday! With so many of our students sharing a love music, it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon—filled with beautiful melodies, smiles, and inspiration.

Crescendo Phoenixville is a community-based program dedicated to providing high-quality violin education to children in the Phoenixville area. Founded in 2018 on the belief that the arts should be accessible to everyone, the program fosters a love of music while building community through shared musical experiences.
Every participant receives a free violin, tuition-free, year-round instruction, and opportunities to perform throughout the year.

We are so grateful to Crescendo Phoenixville for sharing their talents with our students and helping create such a memorable day!

The ESY Arts and Crafts group was full of color, creativity, and fun! From clay mosaics and tissue paper collages to plant prints and butterfly-making, our artists embraced every project with enthusiasm and imagination. We’re so grateful for this wonderful group of creative souls who make each session special. 🎨🦋💛

Our baking group has been mixing more than ingredients—they've been blending food and history, too! 🍰📚

For their final recipes, students explored delicious treats inspired by specific moments in time, including:
🍪 Starchies – A gluten-free Brazilian cookie dating back to the 1910s.
🍫 Wacky Cake – A Great Depression-era chocolate cake that, by design, is also vegan.
🟫 Pioneer Brownies – Based on an early 1900s recipe that helped pave the way for the chocolate brownies we know and love today.
🍰 Whipped Cream Cake – Created during the Depression and wartime rationing, this unique dessert falls somewhere between an angel food cake and a pound cake.

From economic hardships to culinary innovation, each recipe tells a story—proving that history can be just as sweet as dessert! ✨
