Decidedly Academic. Distinctively Christian. That first year, a very small school opened its doors on Grand Ave.

In 1964, a few humble and courageous of men, who were acting on their commitment to start a Christian school, mortgaged their homes for the purpose of creating a new ministry. to 64 students, ranging from Kindergarteners to 6th graders. In 1978, the vision expanded, leading to the purchase of property at Baseline. In those days, the $10,000 price tag seemed monumental. Today, we laugh at such a bargain; however, back then, the investment required a huge step of faith. The journey continued with the loving sacrifice of many who mustered the courage to seize opportunities for further development. These opportunities materialized in the construction of our Athletics and Fine Arts Building (1986), the Baseline Education Complex (1998) and the Rt. 66 Preschool (2004). In spite of recent economic turbulence, Foothill has nearly 800 students on two campuses in Preschool-8th grade. God has been so faithful, and it is now our turn to continue marching in faith, so that not only those are honored who have gone before us, but that we might also pave the way for those who follow in our steps. Our Mission is to provide families with a Christ-centered, Biblically-directed education which encourages the development of a personal relationship with God and which instills the vision and practice of excellence in academics, character and service to God and others.

Learning to code has never looked so fun! These junior high students in Coding & Robotics created and programmed their very own dance instructor to teach the class a special routine. Love the creativity!

Yesterday, our students, staff, and families gathered to officially install Lindsey Wilson as our Head of School and mark a meaningful passing of the baton from Mr. G after 39 years of leadership.

Mrs. Wilson was given a charge for the future and committed to leading FCS with wisdom and care, putting God first and seeking what is best for our school.

It was a meaningful start to the school year as we celebrated God’s faithfulness and looked ahead with excitement to this new chapter!

NEW THIS YEAR AT FOOTHILL! We’re excited to announce a new chapter in our Junior High 1:1 student device program! Beginning this year, our 6th grade students will be equipped with Apple MacBook Neos!

At Foothill, students purchase their device as they enter 6th grade, use it as an essential learning tool throughout their Junior High years, and take ownership of it when they graduate from 8th grade.

Every junior high student has their device available throughout the school day, giving them a powerful tool to research, learn, collaborate, and create! However, this program is also intended to teach our students to use technology with responsibility, wisdom, and discernment as they become confident digital learners. It’s a win-win.

New grade. New tools. New possibilities! 6th grade is going NEO!

We are excited to welcome Jeff Tirrell as Foothill Christian School’s new Vice Principal of Student Programs! As Lindsey Wilson steps into her new role as Head of School, Mr. Tirrell will help lead the programs and activities that enrich student life at FCS.

Already a Foothill Church covenant partner and FCS parent, Mr. Tirrell knows and loves our community and is excited to serve the school that has meant so much to his own family. He brings extensive experience in Christian higher education, administration, teaching, and student development. Mr. Tirrell holds a Ph.D. in Practical Theology from Claremont School of Theology, an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in Communications from Azusa Pacific University. His most recent position was in academic administration at APU with nearly two decades of experience in teaching and mentoring students.

We are grateful for his experience, leadership, and heart for students that he brings to this new role. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Tirrell to the FCS leadership team!

It is with profound sadness that we share that Foothill Christian Preschool will close its doors at Route 66 on November 20th, 2026.

After much prayer, careful consideration, and extensive efforts to find a sustainable path forward, significant declines in preschool enrollment have made continued operation at our Route 66 campus no longer financially sustainable. This was an incredibly difficult decision and one we did not make lightly.

For nearly 40 years, FCP has been a place where children have been loved, nurtured, and taught; where friendships have grown, God’s truth has been shared, and foundations of faith have been laid. Its impact has reached far beyond the classroom, shaping generations of children and families throughout our community.

Our hearts are heavy for our students, families, faculty, and staff who have called FCP home. Please join us in praying for them in the months ahead, that God would provide every need of theirs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

You can find additional information and ongoing updates about the closure on our preschool website.
