Today is National Career Coach Day, and we wanted to take a moment to highlight the wonderful coaches at our campuses, our Director of Career Services, and all of the work they do to get our students out into their chosen industries after completing their programs.

Their invaluable advice, constructive feedback and unwavering support push our students to achieve their career goals. They help sculpt career paths, sharpen skills, and help prepare our West-MEC completers to be the best versions of themselves! 🏆

Thank you, A for Arizona, for spotlighting the work being done at West-MEC!

📣 🌟

This week, we shine the spotlight on West-MEC, a Cycle 3 Transportation Modernization Grantee! Their dedication to empowering students through innovative career and technical training programs is truly commendable. 🎓

By offering these programs, West-MEC equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in college or the workforce. With college credits and industry credentials already in their repertoire, students are well-prepared to thrive in their chosen paths.

Unfortunately, transportation has posed a significant challenge for students seeking access to these invaluable programs. Thanks to the Transportation Modernization Grant, West-MEC has tackled this barrier by introducing innovative rideshare options for families.🚗💨

We applaud West-MEC for their efforts in breaking down barriers and creating more opportunities for ALL students! 💼🎉

Have you ever tried hurling a 15lb turkey down a bowling lane? 🦃

Yesterday West-MEC staff held our annual Turkey Bowl! This tradition is several years running, and in conjunction with the fun, West-MEC collected 139 lbs of food (canned food and turkeys) and raised an additional $44 to donate to St. Mary's Food Bank.

Congratulations to team Gobble Trotters (Our West-MEC recruiters) on their win!

Before we all enjoy the Thanksgiving break, we wanted to just say we are so THANKFUL for our students.

Not only do they work hard on their career pathways, learning new skills every day and balancing West-MEC with extra-curriculars and their home high school coursework, but they also take the time to do fantastic service projects to give back to their community.

Our students are heartfelt in their service, from food drives to free haircuts for veterans, campus and community clean-ups, and even woven mats and care packages for houseless individuals.

Students had the opportunity to check out the pits, walk the track, and listen in on how a pre-race setup goes. Students also got some driver autographs and heard from some team owners about the ins and outs of breaking into the racing industry. Thanks again to Phoenix Raceway for this fantastic opportunity for our students and staff.
