West-MEC's Southwest Campus recently hosted an exciting Open House! 🏫🔸

Prospective West-MEC students and community members were able to explore the campus and discover the wide range of career-focused programs offered by West-MEC.

This past month, West-MEC staff members had the opportunity to attend the 2024 Association for Career and Technical Education CareerTech VISION conference in San Antonio, Texas, where they were recognized for their contributions to career and technical education.

🔸 Southwest Campus Counselor, Denise Saldamando, was celebrated with the ACTE Outstanding Professional in Counseling and Career Development Award for her dedication to student success.

🔸 C&I Worked Based Learning Specialist, Susan Leon, was recognized for her leadership during her term as ACTE New & Related Services Division Vice President.

🔸 West-MEC Superintendent, Dr. Scott Spurgeon, presented a session on the topics of career literacy and student career plans, sharing insight on how West-MEC is preparing students for success.

West-MEC is pleased to extend heartfelt congratulations to Barbara Wyllie and Robert Garcia on their recent swearing-in as board members.
