On Fridays we recognize one student from each grade level with our random ✨Golden Ticket✨ drawing. Students can earn a golden ticket for modeling classroom and school expectations! They get their name called on announcements, a certificate, and a prize of their choice. Congratulations to these Stallions! 💛💙

We celebrated rainbow week so our kindergarten friends could learn the colors of the rainbow! It was so fun seeing all the colors around campus!

We are so happy to have two water bottle refill stations on campus! These stations provide filtered water to keep our students hydrated all day long, especially in this Arizona heat. If you send your student to school with a refillable water bottle, please write their name on it so we can return it if it gets lost!

Stop by Sunset tomorrow from 7:30-8:30 AM to purchase a coffee from Rebellious Brew! Beverages will be available for adults to purchase, and funds will support our Sunset PTO!

We had so much fun in our first and second day of the school year! Our students took campus tours to learn procedures in common areas and spent time getting to know their classmates and teachers. We are so excited for a great school year! 💙💛

Introducing our new Principal, Aimee Wojciechowski! Aimee is so excited to meet you at Meet the Teacher night on Thursday August 3rd from 4:00-5:30. She will be "out and about" campus so stop her and say hi when you see her!

We start our final week of new 2023-2024 administrator introductions with a feature of Aimee Wojciechowski, new principal at Sunset Elementary. Aimee possesses her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. With over nine years of experience in education, Aimee began her career with the WESD as an instructional coach at Sahuaro Elementary School where she led the PBIS team in rebranding school-wide expectations. She most recently served as the assistant principal at Manzanita Elementary School. Welcome, Aimee!

Mark your calendars, ! All 33 WESD schools are hosting their annual Meet-the-Teacher Nights in two weeks on either August 2 or August 3! Our teachers, staff and administrators are looking forward to meeting their students and families. We encourage you to stop by and say hello! Attention, ! This is a friendly reminder that our summer hours begin next week.

All school offices will be closed beginning Wednesday, June 7, and will reopen on Thursday, July 20, at 7:30 a.m. The WESD Administrative Center will be closed on Fridays through July 14. Business hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. However, the week of July 3 is the one exception as we will only be open from Wednesday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. due to the Independence Day holiday on Tuesday, July 4. Regular business hours will resume at the WESD Administrative Center on Monday, July 17.

Did you know? Sunset WRIC will be offering FREE Laugh and Learn activities during the summer for children ages 0-5 years old to enjoy!

Our staff vs. 6th grade students kickball game today was so much fun! It was avery close game. The Sunset staff barely won with a a score of 6-5. Great game 6th graders!!

Congratulations to our Sunset 4th, 5th and 6th grade honor students! It takes hard work and dedication to achieve this academic recognition. We are so proud of you! Thank you to our former students, Mystie and Avery for your speeches and to our 6th grade highest honor students who were brave enough to give speeches as well! Thank you to Miss Klues for your hard work organizing this event, and to our 4th, 5th and 6th grade teachers for your help and support. Thank you to Dr. Stanton for joining us tonight to celebrate our amazing students, and thank you to our principal, Ms. Jones for your love support and well wishes for our honor students. We are so proud of our Sunset honor students!! 💛💙

We had a wonderful STEAM Night last Thursday! Thank you to the Arizona Science Center, Peter Piper Pizza and our volunteers from Haven Church; you helped make our event a success! Thank you to our Sunset families for coming to our event. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
