Come meet local children's author Debi Novotny as she presents "Beaker & Gonk" on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

Follow sister and brother dinosaurs, Beaker and Gonk, in their adventure around the kitchen. When Gonk wants to make a birthday breakfast for Momma, he knows it has to be something special. Under the watchful eye of big sister Beaker, he scrambles to the kitchen but stirs up a mess when eggs go rolling and special ingredients go missing. It's up to Gonk to fix this culinary disaster before Momma wakes up!

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by exploring the culture, celebrations, music, art, and food of several Hispanic countries. We'll journey to Mexico, Colombia, and Puerto Rico.

Celebrate the beginning of autumn with a Johnny Appleseed Advenure, and a journey with "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves".

August is all about DINOSAURS! Join us for Sensory Play, Creativity Center, A Day with Dinosaurs, Meet My Dinosaur Friend, and even a Dinosaur Dance Party. Local children's author, Debi Novotny, will visit on Friday, August 28 to present her dinosaur themed book, "Beaker & Gonk".

Need a break from the heat? Come inside for a cool puppet show!

Join us at Foothills Branch Library on Monday, June 8 for a FREE performance of "The Little Red Hen", performed by Great Arizona Puppet Theater. Library opens at 10:00 am; show starts at 10:15 am. Seating is first come, first serve until the room reaches capacity. No registration required.

Summer programs will be held at 3 locations - Copper Creek Elementary, Park Meadows School, and Canyon Springs STEM Academy.

Join us for programs with Arizona Science Center, Great Arizona Puppet Theater, and Musical Story Time with Paul Whitney. We will also offer Play Dough Experience, LEGO Creation, Puzzle Power, Board Game Fun, STEM Play, Sensory Play, and Creativity Center.

Join us on Monday, June 8 at 10:00 AM at Foothills Branch Library for Great Arizona Puppet Theater's performance of Little Red Hen. Registration is not required. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis until program reaches capacity.

If you have a student starting kindergarten this fall, sign up for our FREE Kindergarten Bootcamp. This is a seven week kindergarten readiness program facilitated by Phoenix Public Library.
