Baseball Schedule 2023

7th & 8th grade baseball & softball tryouts will now be held Monday, August 21st & Tuesday, August 22nd. Interested athletes need to sign up on the sheets in the hall on the way to lunch and complete their Register My Athlete registration. Thanks and GO BEARS!!!

Great start to our school year and we are counting down the days until baseball and softball tryouts for our 7th and 8th graders! Back to school means back to HLS sports for our 7th and 8th graders! Baseball and softball tryouts are POSTPONED until Monday, August 21st and Tuesday, August 22nd. Tryouts will be after school from 3:45-5:15ish and students should plan to attend both days. Basketball tryouts for 8th grade girls will be Thursday 2/2 after school in the gym. Unfortunately we have to postpone tryouts for 8th grade boys while we wait on HR to process our coaching hire. We will announce a new date as soon as we can.

Tryouts for 7th grade boys and girls will be Monday 2/6 after school in the gym.

Congrats to our 7th grade boys and girls volleyball teams who both made the championship game tomorrow evening at Desert Sky! Boys play at 4:45 and girls play at 5:45.

Congrats also to our 8th grade boys who will play for the championship Saturday morning at MRHS at 9:00!

The 8th grade girls had a great season too and lost a heart breaker in 3 sets yesterday to Sonoran Trails in the semifinals.

A very successful volleyball season for the Bears. Let’s bring home a trophy or 3! Go Bears!!!

Reminder that this weeks volleyball games were moved to accommodate the band and orchestra concerts. The game 12/6 was moved to 12/7 and the game on 12/8 was moved to 12/12. Thable and Go Bears!

Urgent announcement for today’s 7th grade volleyball games at Desert Sky. Unfortunately the 7th grade girls will not have a game because Desert Sky has a quarantine situation with their team. The boys game will be played at 4:45 instead of after the girls game. Thanks and Go Bears!

Where are they now … 5 years ago Highland Lakes volleyball team won the state championship - 5 from that team are freshmen in college playing volleyball - watching them compete over the years has been really cool - can’t wait to watch them in college

Spiritline:
Camp will start Monday March 22nd and go until Thursday April 15th.
No competition this year unfortunately.
Monday thru Thursday from 3:30-5:00 in the gym after school.
No tryout necessary.
Registration thru Register My Athlete still required.
No Cost.

Track & Field:
The SEASON (yay!) will start Tuesday March 2nd and we do not have an end date as of yet.
Most likely there will be 2-3 meets against other schools starting after spring break.
Practices will be after school until about 5:00.

District made the decision to start with volleyball next week instead of basketball.

8th grade boys and girls volleyball tryouts will be Monday and Tuesday 12/14-15 after school in the gym 3:45-5:00.

7th grade boys and girls volleyball tryouts will be Wednesday and Thursday 12/16-17 after school in the gym 3:45-5:00.

Spiritline tryouts for 7th & 8th graders will still be Monday and Tuesday 12/14-15 after school from 3:45-5:00.

All athletes need to have completed Register My Athlete prior to trying out.
