Veena Langewisch (rising junior) qualified for Nationals for the National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland after advancing through Regionals and State throughout the 2026 school year. This was her second time competing at the National level with around 3,000 qualifiers from all 50 states, American territories, and international schools.

Veena was named a Finalist (top 10) for the Senior Individual Website division.

Her website is called "The 'War of the Dots': Revolutionizing Independence Through Literacy for People with Visual Impairments."

Nicolet Union High School is proud to announce that six candidates have been selected to the Class of 2026 Nicolet High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The candidates include three athletes: Amos Besaw (Class of ’97-Wrestling, Track, Cross Country), Mehdi Eslami (Class of ’06-Soccer), Ava Ellegard (Class of ’21-Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis) and three Coaches: Dann Jacobson (Girls Volleyball 1996-Present), Brad Kuehl (Boys Volleyball, Softball 2003-2026) and James “JD” Davis (Rugby, Football, Athletics Supervisor 2005-Present).

The candidates who make up the class of 2026 will be honored at halftime of the Nicolet Varsity Football game when it hosts West Bend East on Friday, September 25th. There will be a dinner/induction ceremony in the Knights Hall at Nicolet High School beginning at 4:30pm followed by the football halftime recognition in the Nicolet Stadium.bDinner/Ceremony tickets will be available to the public beginning August 18th.
