Bicentennial South School

Thank you to Glendale Kiwanis for allowing some of our Bici South students to shop this morning at Kohl’s so they can be dressed and prepared for a great school year!

Bici South Bears had a TRRFCC first week back to school! We have jumped right into our new learning, both students and teachers! We all absolutely love our new cafeteria kitchen and serving line! It is beautiful! We are going to have an incredible year!

Bici South students, teachers and families are so excited to be back at school on Monday! There was an amazing turnout at Meet the Teacher Night tonight! Thank you families for coming out tonight! We look forward to seeing all of our Bears on Monday morning and an incredible school year! Have a wonderful last weekend of summer!

Congratulations to all of our Bici South Athletes for coming out to our GESD Track Meet today! It was a beautiful morning and we all had so much fun!

Bicentennial South Families and Staff,

This message is to inform you that today during dismissal there was a fire present in a restroom on the Bicentennial North Campus. It was quickly extinguished. Fire department officials and administrators were notified immediately. All students and staff were safe and not harmed during this isolated incident.

We consider the safety of our students our highest priority. Please partner with us to talk with your student(s) about the seriousness of the inappropriate use of fire and the dangers of bringing prohibited flammable objects to school. Encourage your student to seek out a staff member if they see or hear of a situation such as this.

Basketball Games
Our next games are January 30th at Challenger against Sunset Visit. Girls game is at 4:45 and Boys at 5:45.
Basketball season is an exciting time for students, their families and community members. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all spectators we are asking for community support with the following:
 Community members must refrain from interacting with basketball referees.
 All students must be accompanied by an adult and remain seated with the adult throughout the game.
 All spectators must exit the gym and lobby immediately following the game.
 District site supervisors and school administrators in orange vest are available if needed.
 Anyone unable to follow the expectations will be asked to leave.

CALENDAR UPDATE: The GESD Governing Board approved a 2022-2023 School Year Calendar revision making Monday, December 19th an Early Release Day for all students and a full workday for staff.

For students, Winter Break will be from Tuesday, December 20th through Tuesday, January 3rd, which is a Professional Growth Day for staff and no school for students. School for students will resume Wednesday, January 4th, 2023 as a regularly-scheduled Early Release Day.

La Mesa Directiva de GESD aprobó una revisión al Calendario del Año Escolar 2022-2023 estableciendo el lunes 19 de diciembre como un Día de Salida Temprana para todos los estudiantes y un día laboral completo para el personal.

Para los estudiantes, las Vacaciones Invernales serán desde el martes 20 de diciembre y hasta el 3 de enero que es un Día de Desarrollo Profesional para el personal y no habrá clases para los estudiantes. Las clases para los estudiantes se reanudarán el miércoles 4 de enero como Día de Salida Temprana.

Bici South students and staff celebrated Red Ribbon Week- Celebrate Life! Say No to Drugs with a door decorating contest and a Spirit Week! We had amazing participation and we are very creative! Let’s Go Bears!
