My conversion training to the Cessna 210 continues. This plane is considered a high performance (over 200 hp engine) and complex (retractable landing gear). Because of this classification, my insurance company requires at least 10 hours of instruction from a certified flight instructor. Rick Rademaker of the Arizona Flight Training Center, is a an amazing CFI, as well as a great friend. He also owns a 210. So, I'm getting the best training possible.
I'm moving up from a Cessna 172. The greatest difference is the speed of the airplane. It's fast! The engine is bigger, so the nose is heavier. And I no longer have a fixed landing gear. All these factors present new challenges, especially on landing. So, that's what Rick and I have been working on, over the last 2 flights. Getting the plane slowed down and then putting it on the ground. Because in aviation, takeoffs are optional.....but landings are mandatory!
