Foothills Elementary School

My name is John Wallander, and I am the new assistant principal at Foothills. I was at Pioneer for the last two years, and I am looking forward to still working with all the former Pioneer students, while getting to know the Foothills community. I have been in the Peoria district for 28 years. When not working, I enjoy hiking with my wife who is a 3rd grade teacher at Cotton Boll, and we also enjoy going to the movies with any one of our 3 kids who are all products of Peoria Unified.

Hello, my name is Beth Manchester. This is my 10th year with PUSD. I am coming from Kachina, where I spent 4 years in the ARISE program and transferred to the Nurse’s office in 2020. I look forward to joining the team at Foothills and having a great year.

Hello Foothills! I am Ms. Havican, I am so excited to be joining everyone this fall. I was born and raised in Orange County, California. I recently moved to Arizona to start my career. I am a first year teacher, so I am very excited to start my journey in 4th grade! I look forward to this upcoming school year!

Introducing our new art teacher Miss. Schofell! Miss. S comes to us from Canyon and Kachina elementary school where she was the art teacher for the last 3 years. In her free time she loves to bake, paint and travel. Her most recent adventure took her to Ireland where she got to see art work from some of the greats like Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and Claude Monet. Miss. S can’t wait to meet you all and see what the students at foothills will create this year!

My name is Amy Starr. I have been teaching for 25 years, all of them in Kindergarten. I am excited to start my 26th year in Kindergarten at Foothills! I like to read and try out new recipes. I'm looking forward to a fantastic year!

I'm Katelyn Miller, I attended the Peoria Unified District for most my K-12 education. I will be teaching 1st grade, and this will be my 3rd year teaching. I absolutely love teaching and I'm looking forward to the new school year.

Hi, I'm Mrs. Brenneman and I love being a speech-language pathologist! In my free time, I like to crochet, play video games, and hang out with my husband and 3 cats. I’m looking forward to the new school year. Go Falcons!

Hello Foothills!!! I am Mrs. Nohre, I am very excited to be joining you this fall as your Band Director. I am originally from Upstate NY. I have taught in NY, FL, TX and now AZ. Along with my own programs, I enjoy teaching small ensembles, private instrumental lessons, working with marching bands, and performing with local community ensembles. 2024 brought the move to the Phoenix area. My husband, who is a corporate pilot, and I have been married for 23 years. We built a home in North Peoria that we share with our youngest son, dog, and 2 cats. Our youngest is attending Phoenix College as an Art/Graphic Design major. Our oldest son stayed in North Dallas where he works as an Aquatics Supervisor for one of the local Parks and Rec Dept. I am looking forward to what the future holds for me in the Phoenix area.
