Ms. Blair making the connections for 7th grade math and investing! Nicholas Padula stopped by Foothills Elementary School, Peoria Unified School District, to talk SIFMA Foundation Stock Market Game. “Approach investing like a coach. Have a game plan!”
"Our Arts Academy is truly what makes Foothills a special place to be. Students are invited into the arts experience as kindergarteners, and the growth of their skills in art, music, theatre and dance continues to high school and beyond. This early love and development of the arts fosters critical thinking skills and self expression, while stretching students to imagine what is possible beyond the classroom."
Happy Future Teachers of America Day! Check out the story linked below for an in-depth look at the progress Program Coach Carissa Puzzo and Program Coach Assistant Kaydence have made with their students at Foothills Elementary School in the Peoria Unified School District this semester.

“'This is a super cool program because kids are teaching other kids. The middle school kids have formed really strong bonds with their 3rd graders. It’s great to watch how excited the Readers are to see their Leaders and vice versa,' she explains. 'The way the Leaders have taken over and guided the 3rd graders is so amazing to see. Now the 3rd graders are sounding out words and reading quicker and more efficiently. I’m proud of how far they all have come.'”

Our Program Coach Assistants aren't the only ones who benefit from their time in the classroom -- Program Coaches reap the benefits of having a teammate in the classroom as well!

Program Coach Carissa is working with Kaydence at Foothills Elementary School in the Peoria Unified School District this semester. Because of her experiences as a Program Coach, Carissa recently switched her major from secondary education to elementary education.

“I changed my major because interacting with the third graders made me realize that I connect very well with younger children and that I enjoy being around them. I’ve also found that the kids love being around me and like to talk to me every chance they get. I don’t always have the highest view of myself and knowing that these kids want me in their lives makes me feel valued and important."
Foothills Elementary School was selected as one of 24 finalists for the 40th annual Arizona Governor’s Arts Awards.

They don't seem care when our children are being bullied, instead they make excuses for the ones doing the bullying. My daughter is being subject to rasist bullying jokes and the principal at Foothills Elementary seems to think it's just a big joke. Very sad.
