Starting this week we will be collecting pennies, coins and/or bills of all kinds for Soldier’s Best Friend!🦮🇺🇸

Soldier’s Best Friend is an amazing nonprofit that pairs veterans with PTSD/anxieties with rescue dogs! 🦮💙🤍🧡

In the front office there are jars for each grade level to place your pennies and bills! Don’t forget to place all silver coins in competitors jars to subtract from their totals. The money collected each week will be counted to determine who wins each weekly challenge! 🪙🏆

•Please be patient and be kind to staff and other drivers as it takes a few weeks for all to learn our procedures. ☺️

•Remember our staff is out in 100+ degree weather keeping all our kids safe, and everyone's safety is more important than any individual's convenience. ☀️

•Make sure that all adults who will be picking up students at 3:30 have a yellow name placard with the student's FIRST & LAST NAME clearly written in marker bold and big so we can read them. 🟨

•Our Pick-Up Loop opens at 3:30 pm. Waiting in line earlier causes back-up and congestion, as students are not dismissed before 3:30PM from this gate.⏰

•Please pull forward and follow all staff directions around the pick up loop. Do not stop short or get out of your car. 🚙

•We do not have any supervision of students until 8:30 am so please do not drop off or leave any kids unattended before 8:30 am.🚗

•Do not cross any streets outside of the designated and manned crosswalks in the AM or PM. We have had some very close calls and pedestrians almost struck crossing 62nd or Quail illegally. 🛑

Glendale educator nominated for Teacher of the Year A Valley teacher needs your vote! Sharon Levake was nominated for teacher of the year, and if she wins, she will also receive some cool prizes.

Out of 125 applicants SRP chose Mrs. Reyes’ grant project and is giving $3,500 to our LS STEM program! SRP awards this grant to support innovative teaching strategies that improve student performance objectives in math and science. 🤯

Over the part 2 weeks, Kindergarten has been learning about the life cycle of baby chicks! 🐥 A local family and farm let the kindergarteners host new eggs! They got to watch them incubate, break out of their shells, and form into the most adorable (and soft) baby chickens! 🥚🐣

We are so excited to host STEAM night tomorrow starting at 4:30PM! 🚀
