This is the last week to enjoy "Boardz and Arrowz" in ArtSpace West, which continues until Thursday at 5pm. Don't miss this unique exhibition of skateboard-inspired art by Native artists, curated by IAP faculty Jacob Meders.
IAP Associate Professor Jeff Kennedy appears in the current episode of the national television series "Poetry in America" on PBS. The episode is on iconic American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay and Kennedy appears as a scholar of Greenwich Village in the early 20th century as well as the Provincetown Players, with whom Millay also participated. Thursday Night, March 3, at 7pm in ArtSpace West is the opening of "Boardz and Arrowz." This unique installation features skateboards and skateboard-related art by Native artists, curated by IAP faculty Jacob Meders. Join us for this opening reception, meets some of the artists, enjoy refreshments, and have a great time! Because of Spring Break, ArtSpace West will open again to the public on Monday, March 14 and continue through March 31, Mondays-Thursdays 12noon-5pm.
This next Thursday, March 3 @ 7pm is the opening in ArtSpace West of "Boardz and Arrowz," an exhibition curated by IAP faculty Jacob Meders. This unique installation will feature skateboards and skateboard-influenced artwork designed by Native artists. The exhibition will run March 7-31 and ArtSpace West is open Mondays- Thursdays from 12noon-5pm.

The work of Phoenix artist Aaron Allen Marner continues in ArtSpace West through February 24. "Life Beyond Measure" is a collection of his newest works as he seeks to capture and express his own experience as an African American artist. ArtSpace West is on the ASU West campus at 4701 W. Thunderbird Rd, and is open Mondays through Thursdays from 12noon-5pm.
Tonight is the opening of "Aaron Allen Marner: Life Beyond Measure" in ArtSpace West from 7-9pm. Please join us for this opening reception that is also the opening of Black History Month and a short ceremony will take place. Food will be served and you will have the opportunity to meet the artist.
Tomorrow, Thurs, Feb 3 @ 7:00pm is the opening of "Aaron Allen Marner: Life Beyond Measure" in ArtSpace West. This installation of Marner's paintings opens as the ASU West Black History Month Committee and ASU West Black Student Union also celebrate the opening of Black History Month. Join us tomorrow night for the pouring of libation to start this significant cultural tradition on our campus, and to view these amazing paintings celebrating African American life. The exhibit continues through February 24 (ArtSpace West is open Mondays-Thursdays from 12n-5pm).
ArtSpace West's next installation features the work of Aaron Allen Marner in an exhibit titled “Life Beyond Measure.” This Arizona visual artist has sought to capture and express his own experience as an African American artist. With his most recent work, he reflects on experiences from the last two years, including the pandemic, loss, racial dilemmas, and personal relationships but also how faith, work ethic, and self-belief have led him to where he is now. This installation opens on Thursday, February 3, with a reception to celebrate the opening of Black History Month beginning at 7:00 pm and then will continue in the gallery through February 24. ArtSpace West is open Mondays through Thursdays from 12noon-5pm.
Tonight is a special performance of a new work by IAP faculty Barry Moon and his collaborators. "Sylvan" is a multimedia performance installation created by dance artists Mary Fitzgerald and Eileen Standley, composer Barry Moon, and visual designer Galina Mihaleva. Taking inspiration from ancient forests for the visual design, the project amplifies the presence of older women’s bodies, giving voice to that which often remain unseen, overlooked, and denigrated in our culture. It takes place Tonight, Sat, Jan 22 @ 5:30pm outdoors in the Delph Courtyard, which is just south of ArtSpace West.
