Congratulations to Gaucho Miguel Carranza-Lua for signing with Division II school Colorado Christian University. Miguel played for Agua Fria High School and the Hammers Soccer Club before his time at GCC. Good luck Mickey!

FC Arizona signs midfielder Aaron Mendez for his 3rd season in row! He was part of the clubs Championship run in 2017. Aaron is a great guy, and coaches at a local High School program. Welcome back Aaron Mendez Come out to Opening night on Saturday Feb. 23rd at 7 pm. Tickets available online or at the gate!

Congratulations to former Gauchos Jeisson and Brayan Palencia for winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship with Point University in Georgia. In the title clinching game Jeisson had the game winning goal.

The Gauchos saw their winning streak run to 3 games today as they pulled away from Gateway in the 2nd half for a 4-0 victory. Gateway gave the Gauchos an early lead as they scored an own goal. That goal held up for a 1-0 halftime lead. The Gauchos cranked it up a level and scored 3 second half goals. Angel de los Rios scored in the 1st minute of the 2nd half off a pass from Mario Hannah to make it 2-0. With 30 minutes left in the game Geo Rodriguez connected with a through ball from Oliver Moya and beat the keeper 1v1 to make it 3-0. Mario Hannah finished off the scoring in the 77th minute as he tapped in his own missed penalty kick for the 4-0 final scoreline. The Gauchos now put their 3 game winning streak on the line as they travel to face Phoenix College at 4:30 pm on Thursday.
The Gauchos today fought through the drenching rain to pull out a 1-0 victory over South Mountain Community College. Despite the Gauchos peppering the South Mountain goal with 22 shots including having a penalty blocked they were unable to take the lead until midway through the 2nd half. Oliver Moya drilled a golazo from outside the box after taking a pass from Carlos Robles for the game winner. In goal Juan Molano was credited with the shutout. The Gauchos are back in action on Tuesday as they host Gateway at 1pm on the GCC Soccer Field.
The Gauchos pulled out a 2-1 victory today over Chandler-Gilbert Community College today. Miguel Carranza gave the Gauchos the early lead as he headed in a corner kick from Angel De los Rios. Chandler-Gilbert tied it early in the 2nd half. Nestor Mora scored the game winner with a couple minutes left in the game off another Angel De los Rios corner.

Yesterday the Gauchos walked away with a 5-0 victory over Gateway Community College. Angel De los Rios gave the Gauchos the early lead as he found a way to connect with a Nestor Mora through ball and scored into an empty net in the 4th minute of the game. Angel scored again 8 minutes later as he took a pass from Mario Hannah to make it 2-0. In the 30th minute Adrian Uribe found Tyler Combs on top of the box and Tyler drilled it into the upper corner of the net to give the Gauchos a 3-0 halftime lead.
The Gauchos started the 2nd half the way they started the 1st half as 2 minutes into the half Cristian Macias took a pass from Bryan Lopez and made it 4-0. 6 minutes later Mario Hannah gave the Gauchos the 5-0 final scoreline as he took a pass from Bryan Lopez and placed it into the net. In goal Juan Molano had 2 saves and Mahmoud Almasri had 1 save as they combined along with a stellar defense to shutout Gateway.
On Saturday the Gauchos pulled off an incredible last minute comeback to defeat South Mountain Community College 2-1. Despite having nearly 80% of the possession the Gauchos trailed 1-0 with 1 minute and a half left in the game. Mario Hannah was fouled on top of the box and Geovanny Rodriguez powered in a free kick to tie the game up. But the Gauchos were not done. One minute later and with time running out Cristian Macias send a cross from the left wing that Tyler Combs placed into the box for Nestor Mora to score the game winner.
Final score: Yavapai 3 GCC 1
