Check out these snapshots from our Prenatal Development Rotation Station Activity, where students got hands-on with playdough to explore the stages of fetal growth and development.

One key takeaway from today’s lesson: Folic acid is essential for both mom and baby! 🌿✨

🔹 Helps prevent birth defects & abnormalities
🔹 Reduces the risk of preeclampsia
🔹 Supports red blood cell production
🔹 Lowers the chances of premature birth

Play-Doh isn’t just about fun—it’s a powerful tool for learning and development. When children play with Play-Doh, they engage in so much more than we realize:

✨ Large & Small Motor Development

Our CFS176 Child Development students recently explored this hands-on activity in class. They learned how play contributes to the developmental domains and why it’s essential to children’s overall growth.

Through Play-Doh, kids can:
🎯 Strengthen fine motor skills
🤝 Build social connections
🧩 Develop problem-solving skills and planning
🎭 Foster symbolic thinking and self-expression
🌟 Enhance sensory development
🧘‍♀️ Reduce stress and find calm

As Instructor Judy Basham said, "What a great activity to build a connection with classmates and learn the importance of how children grow and develop—all with a simple Play-Doh activity!"

🎉📚 Annual Literacy Parade at GCC! 📚🎉

Each year at Glendale Community College, we bring the magic of books to life with our Literacy Parade! Faculty and staff volunteer their time to set up tables, dress as beloved children’s book characters, and share the joy of reading with our campus community. This Halloween was no different, and we had an amazing turnout!
